Butter London is one of those beauty brands that is fast becoming cult property. Although the company is actually based in Seattle, it offers a thoroughly British experience with quirky names such as Old Blighty and Chimney Sweep. Their creative director, Nonie Creme has worked on numerous A-list nails, including Kate Moss, as well as creating looks on campaigns for Vogue, H&M, and Jimmy Choo.

First it was chipped nail polish, then the dark black shades of Goth Glam, and now alternate shades of nail varnish on fingernails is being tipped (ahem, excuse the pun) to be the latest trend.
Model Jodie Kidd and pop star Christina Milian have both been spotted mixing it up, lately. Christina has been contrasting very dark and pale colours together as well as different shades of brights.

This season we're descending to the dark side for inspiration.
Chanel sent out grunge goths with washed-out skin and matted hair, whilst the Yves Saint Laurent models had blood-bitten, black or burgendy stained lips and Viktor & Rolf's girls sported almost cartoonish black ringed eyes.
This is a far cry from the teenage goth looks of yore.

For shoe-addicts everywhere, this is the best time of summer - the shoe sales! I'm especially excited about the Kurt Geiger sale which started this weekend. It was so tricky to choose between Marc Jacobs or Chloe but I was really looking for some gladiator sandals that would go with my new Butter London polish.

This year marks the tenth anniversary between the Orange BAFTA Awards and Lancôme, and this year, I was lucky enough again to be invited to the Dorchester Hotel where they hosted a suite. Inside, I spoke with lead makeup artist Armand Beasley about his trend forecast for the show, I checked out some of the brand's newest launches, learnt a trick or two about applying false lashes, and got a lesson on how to create perfect brows (but more on that later)!
For now, one of the most exciting products available is a Swarovski encrusted BAFTA cheek palette (£45).

On Tuesday morning, at the Kensington Roof Gardens in London, Cosmopolitan UK threw the 7th annual beauty awards bash of the year! Besides the flowing array of nibbles, coffee and tea, 82 products (and their trophy's) were showcased around the room for editors, PR's and guests to admire and test. Justine Southall (pictured on the far right), Cosmo's Publishing Director spoke about the state of affairs at the magazine whilst Ingborg Van Lotringen, Cosmo's Beauty Director presented the two newest awards for Breakthrough Product to Clairol Perfect 10 and the Classic Award to The Body Shop Body Butters.

A glammed up Paris Hilton was certainly playing the star at the the Cuckoo club in London last night. She was interviewing contestants to be her new best friend as part of her new reality TV show. In a black beaded dress with glowing tanned skin, Paris looked like she meant business as she apparently reduced contestants to tears.
