If plaited headbands are on your list of cheesy beauty products, you might have to reconsider. Salma Hayek showed off a chic and easy way to wear the trend . . . without looking like teen. At the premiere of Grown Ups 2, Salma wore her hair in a tousled french twist that was high on texture. She accented the look with a double-plaited Alice band, which was positioned with one plait at the crown, while the second fell just above the top of the twist. The result was a fun, unexpected take on a classic style, and it's easy to replicate at home. Feeling inspired? Shop the look below!
Somewhere on your list of things to do before your wedding day is finding a hairstylist and makeup artist. It's likely that you have a hairstylist, but the same person who cuts your hair might not be a bridal updo expert. And makeup artists? Very few women have a pro in their list of contacts. And if your wedding is out of town, then that adds a whole other element of frustration. Simplify your search for a bridal beauty entourage with these tips:
- Ask friends: While you're making the rounds this wedding season, ask the bride who did her hair and makeup. It's also a good idea to poll your married girlfriends for ideas too. Finally, the wedding coordinator is also a good resource for a list of professional hair and makeup artists in the area.
- Search for salons: Quiz your regular stylist on his availability for your wedding day. Even if they aren't available for your wedding, he might know fellow stylists in the area who do similar services. You can also do a quick Internet search to find a salon that offers special bridal packages for hair and makeup.
- Attend bridal shows: Wedding expos are the holy grail of information. You can find everything from your dress to a wedding planner at your local bridal show. It's also a great resource for finding a hairstylist or makeup artist in your area for the big day.
- Scope department stores: Many makeup artists who work at your local beauty counter also do freelance work. If you find someone who does glowing, natural makeup well during a consultation, then ask for her card.
Once you have a list of potential wedding hairstylists and makeup artists, ask to see portfolios, and get references. Then, it's time to set up your bridal trial (warning: it might take more than one). Schedule the test run at least six months before your nuptials, so you have time to perfect your look or even find someone else. Also keep in mind that your team will likely have to do everyone in the bridal party, too. So, make sure you brief them on what you want for your bridesmaids, mother, and flower girls.

Think the board room and beauty counter are two separate entities? You'll change your tune when you take a gander at BareMinerals Ready Eye Shadow 8.0 palette (£35) due out later this month. Dubbed "The Power Neutrals," the palette is chock-full of gorgeously wearable colours with cheeky names to boot. Money Maker is (appropriately) a sexy hunter green, which would play perfectly with a set of hazel eyes, while Magnate is that neutral taupe that every woman needs in her arsenal. Looking for a sexy metallic smoky eye? Shmooze is a gorgeous, shimmering bronze that would make anyone stop and stare. Tuck this palette away in your bag for whenever you need an instant power trip.
Last night at the Animal Ball hosted by the Elephant Family in Lancaster House in London, sisters Annette and Daniele Felder along with sisters Mary and Ruth Powys arrived with a complete head-to-toe matchy matchy style. Everything from their dresses to their shoes, hairstyles and makeup were exactly the same. On the other hand, Cara and Poppy Delevigne also attended, but didn't coordinate their beauty looks whatsoever. Whilst it can be fairly common for identical twins to have the same beauty style, it's not something I often see with other siblings where there is an age difference between them. Vote below to let me know if you have a sister, and if so, do you mimic each others beauty look?

The ombré hair trend is still going strong as ever, but celebrities are finding their own ways to make this style their own. Blake Lively was out supporting her husband, Ryan Reynolds, at the premiere of his new film, Turbo, sporting a grown-out take on the trend. Her buttery blond hair turned a slightly darker shade right at the roots, giving this ombré job a slight grunge factor. Blake's blond hair has become part of her signature look, so seeing her change it up a bit is always nice, but what do you think of it?

Yesterday at the Soho Hotel in London, clothing designer Mary Katrantzou paired up with Rodial creator Maria Hatzistefanis for a tea party to celebrate the new candle they developed together. The limited-edition votive is set for a September launch and apparently, smells simply gorgeous consisting of orange, lemon, pineapple and orange blossom. But what makes this candle especially cool is Katrantzou's kooky and fun print on the outside. And once the candle burns out, they hope that people will use the glass casing for their makeup brushes. Both parties involved seem to be equally excited about the new product. Katrantzou told VogueUK,
"I'm thrilled to have collaborated with Rodial on this beautiful candle. Rodial is the ultimate iconic beauty brand and this candle will be perfect for beauty fanatics and fashionistas everywhere." And Hatzistefanis said, "I’m so excited to be launching this in collaboration with one of my favourite designers Mary Katrantzou. I am in love with Mary’s signature bold prints and think this candle is the perfect representation of two merging luxury brands."
Selena Gomez is never one to shy away from a sexy smoky eye, but it was her nail pairing that caught our attention. The singer polished her digits in a bright Pepto pink colour. It's a classic duo that ladies always seem to reach for: a sexy makeup look paired with a more demure nail varnish or hairstyle to avoid looking too over-the-top. Selena rounded out her look with tousled waves and a glossy nude lip. What do you think of her varnish and shadow pairing?
