Trend Alert: Kooky Hair Colours
This week, bright rainbow hair colours have been everywhere, from celebrity land to the catwalk. Yesterday, on the Paris catwalks Manish Arora sent out technicolour hairstyles in blue, piercing red and yellow. On the same day in London, the Sugarbabes' Amelle Berrabah appeared with blue streaks in her hair, whilst Kelly Osbourne has dyed her hair lavender.
Trend Alert: The Single Plait
Designers and celebrities have been embracing their inner school girl this past week and plaits have been everywhere! On Tuesday at the Ashish runway show, models wore long, thick plaits with streaks of colour in them. Later that evening, Emilia Fox sported a girly braid to the Elle Style Awards, and on Saturday, the statuesque Tamsin Egerton worked a long Rapunzel style version at the Asprey Pre Bafta Bash.
Hot Designer Collaborations at Topshop for 2010
With 2010 just around the corner, I'm looking to Spring and getting excited about new season trends. Topshop has had some great designer collaborations this year including Christopher Kane and Emma Cook and next year looks set to be even better. There are literally sequins everywhere at the moment. They're adorning blazers and leggings, but also in a more appropriate form on dresses. Sequins make the perfect partywear, especially if you plan on hitting the dancefloor.

Bargain Party Dresses
There are plenty of sales going on this year with Selfridges reportedly taking £1 million in it's first hour of sales trading! Despite this there are still plenty of bargains to be found and just in time for that New Years party. The net-a-porter sale started on 27th December offering designer bargains by the likes of Stella McCartney, Marc Jacobs and Roberto Cavalli.

I must admit that I haven't been an avid viewer of The X Factor but I have been keeping my eye on the most stylish of this season; Diana Vickers. From her big hair to her cricket jumpers to her rock chick style she's definitely made an impression on the fashion world if not the music one too. Americans celebrate Thanksgiving this Thursday and this usually acts as a marker for the beginning of the festive season. Now obviously we don't celebrate Thanksgiving here in the UK but that doesn't mean we can't start to indulge in our festive wardrobe with a sequin or two? There was a distinct American vibe to the opening of this collection shown on the last day of Spring 2009 London Fashion Week. It began with a military feel with camouflage pieces that were made glamorous with a lot of sequins.
Certain glossy magazines this month have declared the end of grunge, but with collections like this it seems fashion's love affair with grungey dressing is never quite over.
