Antoni & Alison Spring 2013

London Fashion Week got off to a colourful start this morning with the Antoni & Alison presentation.

London Fashion Week got off to a colourful start this morning with the Antoni & Alison presentation. A brass band went marching down the catwalk before the duo, who are celebrating their 25th anniversary this year, sent out their collage-inspired collection. The artistic designers locked themselves away for four days to create "hand rendered art works, drawn and painted with our own hands". Their experiments with black felt tip, ink drawings, spray cans, crayons, and smudges in charcoal resulted in a line of bright silk shifts covered in scribbles, brush strokes, illustrated flowers and glitter embellishment. With Mulberry also presenting a colour and craft collection this season, it looks like LFW is crashing the art world in a big way. Take a look here and keep checking back for more coverage!

  • Trends: Art-inspired patterns, embellishment, colour, collage.
  • Colors: Every shade, from red and orange to pink, blue and green.
  • Key Piece: The white shift with spray can green and embellishment summed up the aesthetic.
  • Accessories: Black pointed courts with gold hardware.
  • Who Should Wear It: Creative types like Zandra Rhodes and Nicole Richie.

On Our Radar: Blackberry Designer Wallpaper

Do you remember when the word 'wallpaper' simply referred to the fabric which probably adorned the walls of your parents' house?

Do you remember when the word 'wallpaper' simply referred to the fabric which probably adorned the walls of your parents' house? Well, technology has brought a whole new meaning to the word as it also decorates the background on your computer or your mobile phone.

For the festive season, Blackberry have teamed up with designers and celebrities to bring a bit of festive cheer to you. You can go here and download the various wallpapers by Celia Birtwell, Antoni & Alison, Rachel Stevens and Ollie Evans. If you're particularly taken with any of the designs then you can go to their Facebook page and download wrapping paper.

I am currently using the Celia Birtwell wallpaper and even though it's not festive it's certainly brightened up my phone. Celia commented, “Mystic Daisy is one of my favourite prints of all time and has been the most successful. It is wonderful to bring to this print to a new audience via BlackBerry making 'design' easily accessible for a new generation."
