A Bit About Brit Nail Guru Sophy Robson

Sophy Robson has been the name to know for nails throughout all of the fashion weeks.

Sophy Robson has been the name to know for nails throughout all of the fashion weeks. She's been whipping up directional nails for everyone from Giles Deacon last Spring, to Topshop Unique and House of Holland this season. She has even extended her expertise to the masses taking up residence at London's Selfridges hosting a pop-up nail store from £20 and up.

I'm a fan of Sophy's, especially after meeting her a few of times backstage. She's worked with everyone in the biz from Kate Moss to Kylie Minogue doing Tom Ford, YSL and even Chanel ads, and has been churning out nail hits this week such as this awesome leather looking nail style (pictured left) at the 2011 Autumn Loewe fashion show.

Each fashion capital offers up a whole range of new trends, but one which featured time and time again was all white outfits. White is definitely the hot colour for Spring '11 as colours, trousers, tops and accessories were created in the shade. From sportswear inspired pieces at Alexander Wang and Chloe to feminine ethereal designs at Alexander McQueen and Erdem. A range of fabrics were used adding depth to the tone including lace and cotton. Click through to see key looks from the catwalk.

2011 Spring London Fashion Week Trend: Wide Leg Trousers

After season upon season of skinny trousers dominating the catwalks, it was great to see some new styles break through for Spring '11.

After season upon season of skinny trousers dominating the catwalks, it was great to see some new styles break through for Spring '11. This season in London, it was wide leg trousers which were the break through style. They're a great item for the warmer months and can be really flattering (they also suit a range of body shapes). Wide leg trousers featured on the catwalk at Holly Fulton with graphic prints and Jaeger London. Click through to find out more.

8 Outrageous Beauty Looks from Spring 2011 Fashion Week

Fashion Week fever still hasn't left me!
8 Outrageous Beauty Looks from Spring 2011 Fashion Week

Fashion Week fever still hasn't left me! All of the fun started back in September in New York, and then moved to London, Milan and Paris. The overriding beauty looks were big hair and either 1970s-inspired makeup or a clean, timeless face.

Some of my favourite styles included red lips at Twenty8Twelve and the sweet plaits at Erdem. However, mixed into all of the pretty was also some wacky.

For example, at David Koma the models had painted on sideburns, and at Jasper Garvida hair was piled on top of the head and surrounded by pink and white balls. Take a peek at eight of these outrageous hair and makeup styles here!

Cat Deeley Talks Briefly About Beauty At Matthew Williamson

Although Cat Deeley's publicist was rushing her backstage to greet designer Matthew Williamson after his 2011 Spring Runway Show, she had a few quick moments to spare for FabSugarUK and I to talk about the clothing, her fabulous bedhead hair, and her makeup look for the night.

Even though our talk was rushed, she was very sweet and really pretty up close. Check out exactly what makeup she was (and wasn't wearing) below!

  • Laura Mercier Secret Concealer
  • No Foundation!
  • Max Factor Lengthening Mascara for super long lashes
  • Shu Uemura Eyelash Curler
  • Clinique Superbalm Moisturizing Gloss

Trend Alert: 1970s Beauty at London Fashion Week

In case you who hadn't noticed yet, the 1970s is turning in to a trend phenomenon for Spring!

In case you who hadn't noticed yet, the 1970s is turning in to a trend phenomenon for Spring! Not least in beauty. The New York runways were rammed with 1970s influences and it looks like the vibe continued in London. The catwalk atTopshop Unique looked like a tribute to high volume '70s glamour. (Check out this crazy backstage shot below. Cool, right?! I wouldn't want to try combing that one out!)

Next came Julien Macdonald's show, which worked a sultry Sharon Tate theme with winged eye makeup and Valley of the Dolls style hair. Then there was Twenty8Twelve, House of Holland and Basso & Brooke, all of which ran with a distinct '70s looks, with loose languid centre-parted waves and simple makeup. (Twenty8Twelve's was more of a Virgin Suicides feel. Meanwhile House of Holland went for full Boogie Nights pool party glamour.)

Front Row Trend Alert: Pale Highlights and Bedhead Hair

I am still catching up on telling you all about the glitz and the glamour that I spied over the course of London Fashion Week.

I am still catching up on telling you all about the glitz and the glamour that I spied over the course of London Fashion Week. One of the trends I noticed, was that celebrities either had their hair and makeup styled to the nines, or they opted for a sort of undone, unkempt look. Last week at the at Matthew Williamson's Show is a perfect example of the latter.

Blondes such as like Sienna Miller, Cat Deeley and Poppy Delevigne lined the front row, (along with Olivia Palermo, whom I was able to steal a few moments to talk beauty with) donning messy centre parts with ultrapale, face framing highlights. Cat even told me that she was wearing minimal makeup with only balm on her lips, whilst Sienna rocked a red pout as her stand out beauty look. Would you wear bedhead hair to a fashion show?

My Favourite Backstage London Beauty Pics!

Backstage at fashion shows is like a different world.
My Favourite Backstage London Beauty Pics!

Backstage at fashion shows is like a different world. Models are roaming around with hair clips and bobby pins, meanwhile stylists, manicurists and makeup artists work like well-oiled machines to get each model ready for their runway moment. My favourite shots of fashion weeks are usually backstage ones. They're great for getting an insight in to how looks are created, not to mention getting a sense of the buzzy fashion week atmosphere. I rounded up my top shots from London Fashion Week to take a look at (Including this fab one of models sleeping at Topshop Unique). Click through this slideshow to check them out. Enjoy!
