Lady Gaga's meat dress was your least favourite of her outfits, but she has since explained the odd choice a little bit further. Gaga arrived at the awards with an entourage of servicemen and women as part of her campaign to change a law in US regarding "Don't ask, Don't tell".
She later spoke to Ellen DeGeneres, who is a vegan, about her unusual choice of attire. "It is certainly no disrespect to anyone that is vegan or vegetarian. As you know, I am the most judgment-free human being on the earth." Gaga explained that the dress could have many interpretations, but added,
"For me – this evening – if we don't stand up for what we believe in and if we don't fight for our rights ... pretty soon we're going to have as much rights as the meat on own bones. And, I am not a piece of meat."
I had a feeling that Gaga's dress (and recent bikini shoot) had a purpose. Do you think this is a good way for her to get her point across, or is it too extreme?

The 2010 MTV VMAs were completely dominated by Lady Gaga. The popstar has had an amazing 12 months which has now been celebrated as she collected a staggering eight awards. She wore three different outfits throughout the event in very different styles. She arrived in an Alexander McQueen gown from his final collection, before changing in to a custom made Giorgio Armani frock. Lady Gaga also wore a meat dress by Franc Fernandez. The 2010 MTV Video Music Awards took place last night in California. The award show was packed with stars including models, popstars and actors. The one colour which dominated the red carpet was (again) black. The flattering tone was spotted on everybody from Coco Rocha to Ke$ha to Emma Stone. Katy Perry has proven she's no shy retiring flower when it comes to red carpet dressing. Last night, the popstrell attended the MTV Video Music Awards and she didn't disappoint, not least on the beauty stakes! Katy worked big volumous black curls with streaks of electric blue and shocking pink run through them, paired with smokey eye makeup and candy pink lips. However, the highlight of her ensemble was her nails. For the event, Katy transferred miniature photos of fiance Russell Brand on to each finger – it must have taken hours! Personally, I loved it. She was clearly in a fun mood and it's definitely a novel way to take your loved one on the red carpet when you're flying solo. Do you like Katy's nails?

There was a lot of black going on at the MTV VMAs red carpet last night, and white and metallics also ruled. The five ladies that looked particularly Fabworthy were Ashley Greene in her black and white mini, Sofia Vergara in a sequined LBD, Eva Marcille in a funky mini frock, Emma Stone in badass leather, and Selena Gomez in a sexy bustier-style metallic gown. Kanye West took a totally different route than Taylor Swift with his VMAs performance last night. She sang a powerful ballad, which is getting a mixed response, while Kanye surprised the crowd with an over-the-top anthem. He acknowledged his own mistakes by raising a "toast to the douche bags" and rapping about his bad behaviour with women. While it's an unconventional apology at best, he did say he recently wrote a song for Taylor Swift in apology. Whether or not this track is directly about last year's VMA incident tell us what you think about Kanye's "Runaway" — love it or over it?
Taylor Swift sang a brand-new track from her upcoming album, Speak Now, at the VMAs last night. The song was widely reported to be about the Kanye West incident from last year's show and the theme was confirmed when her performance started with footage from the famous interruption. It was the worldwide debut of the song and Taylor brought her trademark tender voice and heartfelt lyrics to the act. She apparently wrote it earlier this year about her experience with Kanye, and Justin Timberlake is a fan! So check out the highly-anticipated single and tell us — love it or over it?
Lindsay Lohan popped up in Chelsea Handler's VMA show opening last night. She filmed the cameo before flying to NY to be with her family instead of joining in the white carpet fun. In the sketch, Lindsay poked fun at her damaged reputation, turning the tables and calling out an alcohol monitor, anklet-wearing Chelsea for being drunk on the job. Chelsea Handler played capable host at the 2010 MTV VMAs on Sunday in LA. After the handsome guys and fashionable women hit the white carpet they took their seats for a roller coaster of an evening. After Eminem and surprise guest Rihanna opened the show, Chelsea had Lindsay Lohan's help opening the show. Eminem left and flew back to NYC for his shows with Jay-Z right after his performance, which meant he couldn't accept any of his awards. He and Lady Gaga were the big winners of the night, check out the whole list! Justin Bieber of course had all the girls screaming with his outdoor performance while his mentor Usher showed off his amazing dance moves on stage. Taylor Swift's ballad about Kanye West was one of the most talked-about moments, and she went barefoot to contrast her D&G dress.
Chelsea got into a hot tub with the cast of Jersey Shore and emerged with a big fake pregnancy belly, but it was Cher's stomach baring outfit that stole the show. Cher stepped out looking like a blast from the past to hand Video of the Year out to Lady Gaga. Katy Perry joined Nicki Minaj to present an award during which Katy joked about meeting her fiance Russell Brand at the 2009 VMAs. Russell didn't accompany Katy this time around, though she brought him on her manicure. Kanye closed the show with his new anthem, "Runaway," in which he called for everyone to "raise a toast to the douche bags" implying that he is one of them after interrupting Taylor last year. Overall it was a fairly tame VMAs as the stars headed out to keep celebrating at all the afterparties.
