Which Emma Watson Fashion Week Look is the Most Fab?

Young actress Emma Watson was busy flying the British flag at Paris Fashion Week recently by attending more shows than a top fashion editor! She may only be 18 years old but that doesn't stop her wearing some very stylish designer ensembles. Emma is guilty of dressing a bit old sometimes but she was on form in Paris wearing a thigh skimming dress at Sonia Rykiel and plenty of bright colours elsewhere. Which of her fashion week looks do you think is the most fab?

Paris Fashion Week, Spring 2009: John Galliano

John Galliano strongly referenced his childhood home in his Spring line which was presented to Paris on Saturday evening. The collection included 3ft busbys (maybe he wants to redesign the Queen's guard uniform?) and oversized First Sea Lord ceremonial hats in a variety of shocking colours.

There were plenty of clashing neon pastel shades from yellow to hot pink and red. The looks were teamed with sky high metallic platform heels.

Much like the rest of Paris Fashion Week, Galliano produced a very wearable collection. Take away the clashing headwear and you're left with pretty floral tea dresses and delicate Summer tops.

There were sheer lace pieces, ruffles and dresses with definite red-carpet appeal. The show took place at a train garage just in the outer suburbs whilst the catwalk stood alongside a railway track. Front-row guests curiously included Peter Andre and Katie "Jordan" Price as well as Dita von Teese and the artist Peter Blake. Could Peter and Katie be the inspiration for his next line?

Trend Alert: Grey

Paris Fashion Week is now over for another season but last week's shows were celeb packed. Stars from the US, UK and Europe came together to appreciate the Spring fashions, but they started their own trends too - particularly supporting the colour grey! Lily Allen and Marion Cotillard wore mid-length dresses to the Christian Dior show with high heels. Naomi Campbell opted for a suit at Yves Saint Laurent, whilst Emma Watson wore an age appropriate loose mini-dress to Sonia Rykiel. All of the outfits matched the sky colour here perfectly!

Freaky or Fabulous: Chanel Sunglasses

On Friday Karl Lagerfeld presented the Chanel Spring line at Paris Fashion Week. The collection was classic Chanel with monochrome and tweed accessorised with giant glitzy art deco jewellery.

There were rock star touches with guitars slung over the shoulder and a model wore these intriguing sunglasses.

These shades have extra detailing creating a side-burn effect. Whilst I appreciate that Lagerfeld is trying to do something new and innovative with the eyewear I'm not sure this is flattering.

Paris Fashion Week, Spring 2009: Chloé

On Saturday Hannah MacGibbon presented her first line for Paris based fashion house Chloe. The youngest British designer was named as the new creative director shortly after the Autumn shows back in March.

MacGibbon explained the Chloe girl to Vogue last week, "I don't think there's any house that provides clothes for the girls we design for. I would love it to be just effortless, desirable clothes that you want to wear, and I'm really starting with daywear because that's at the core of the company."

The collection still represented the classic feminine feel of the label but in a slightly more grown-up fashion. The hemlines were short but edgy fabrics such as PVC.

The colour palette was mainly kept to on-trend pastel shades and classic tailored pieces were given a funky touch with scalloped sleeves. Bow detail belts kept waists clinched over high waisted shorts.

MacGibbon played with dimensions and experimented with colour for her first collection and it certainly didn't disappoint. What do you think of the pieces?

Paris Fashion Week, Spring 2009: Stella McCartney

Stella McCartney shows are always a bit of a family affair but this season there was an extra guest as her 8 month-old baby was backstage! Sir Paul McCartney was back from the Middle East and in the front row with James McCartney and Stella's husband Alasdhair Willis.

Stella returned to tailoring this season with relaxed silk jackets, and oversized dinner jackets. She drew on a palette of neutral tones and pastel shades for a nature-inspired line.

The collection had strong sexual overtones with slinky fabrics and flesh revealing pieces. Cleavage was on show with plunging necklines and jackets open to the waist. It felt like luxurious loungwear but with short hemlines.

The back drop for the show was a giant felt picture inspired by childrens books. The final walk through was to Paul McCartney's 'Maybe I'm amazed' which Paul himself described as "emotional". The song was dedicated to his late wife Linda who Stella often sites as an influence.

Paris Fashion Week, Spring 2009: Karl Lagerfeld

Yesterday Karl Lagerfeld took to the catwalk with his own brand futuristic collection. This was the best collection I've seen from Lagerfeld in recent memory (for his own brand) as it usually consists of designs he himself might wear.

For Spring 2009 Karl moved away from that and upped the ante creating glamorous red carpet worthy ensembles with key accessories such as metal tattoo like cuffs and giant waist clinching belts.

The pieces were wearable such as suits, dresses and the occasional peplums. Obviously some Karl Lagerfeld staples were present including crisp white shirts and black combinations and his presence was still very much felt on the catwalk.

My personal favourite from this collection is the fluid metallic dress which will surely make its red carpet debut very soon. Fashion editors Anna Wintour and Anna Piaggi graced the front row. See below for images from the collection, and be sure to tell us what you think.

Paris Fashion Week, Spring 2009: Jean Paul Gaultier

Paris Fashion Week continued yesterday as enfant de terrible of French fashion, Jean Paul Gaultier presented his surprisingly commercial collection.

Gaultier was inspired by dance for this collection which opened with a performance and was staged as though taking place in a rehearsal studio.

He explained, "To me, clothes on a hanger are simply still lives. It's only when someone wears them that they come alive. Here, the idea was to create clothes that have several uses. You can go for a swim, you can also go out and it turns into a dress."

Maybe the current financial climate encouraged him to create a collection that was very wearable but the pieces lacked the controversy for which Gaultier is famed. The pieces were beautifully made and draped elegantly, whilst slits and sheer fabrics hinted at sexuality.

Dita Von Teese sat in the front row looking beautifully ladylike. See below for images of the collection. What do you think of the dance inspired items?
