Bargain Party Dresses

There are plenty of sales going on this year with Selfridges reportedly taking £1 million in it's first hour of sales trading! Despite this there are still plenty of bargains to be found and just in time for that New Years party. The net-a-porter sale started on 27th December offering designer bargains by the likes of Stella McCartney, Marc Jacobs and Roberto Cavalli. I found this cute sparkly dress by Marc by Marc Jacobs (left) reduced to just £299 (down from £499). If you're looking for something slightly cheaper then this tweed evening dress from Philosophy di Alberta Ferretti is down to £180 at mywardrobe.com. Still cheaper still is a sparkly bargain from Topshop's designer collaboration range. The blue sequin mini dress is by Ashish for Topshop and reduced by 50% to £60.

Online Sale Alert: Topshop

One of the most highly anticipated sales started this morning and it's as exciting as you might hope! Even when you're completely skint you seem to be able to find money for Topshop and today they're offering lots of items for less. Pieces from their designer collaborations like those Peter Jensen dresses and Preen shoes are nearly half price.

Some items from the Kate Moss collection are reduced too like this floral dress (as worn by Diana Vickers on The X Factor) and this adorable heart cardigan. If you're looking for a party dress for New Years Eve then there are some great options like a sequined bow dress (£50) or skater dress by Louise Goldin (£80). See below for more items in the sale.

Back to Cool: Mean Girls

Mean Girls isn't a Christmas film per se but when thinking about dressing up in a festive theme, I can't help but think of Lindsay Lohan et al singing 'Jingle Bell Rock'. The four girls sing and dance on stage at the school's Winter talent show in very inappropriate (for school) festive costumes. They wear knee high heeled boots and black satin gloves to round off the look. If you're attending a fancy dress party this year and are feeling brave then why not copy the look below?
