Couture week in Paris kicked off today and one of my favourite shows took place, Christian Dior. John Galliano always designs fabulous couture that is inspiring and beautifully hand crafted. For Autumn 2010, Galliano was inspired by flowers from his childhood garden using bright colours, voluminous skirts and dramatic head pieces. Daphne Guinness has decided to set the record straight about why she stopped the Isabella Blow auction. The auction was planned to sell Isabella's extensive wardrobe in order to help settle debts from her former estate, but Daphne reportedly bought the entire thing back in June.
She wrote a piece for the Financial Times explaining her decision. She writes, "The auction would not be merely a sale of clothes; it would be a sale of what was left of Issie, and the carrion crows would gather and take away her essence forever."
The sale was supposed to be kept secret as it was a complicated decision for Daphne. "Buying the collection to preserve it was both a very easy and extremely delicate decision to make; the challenge now is much more daunting: to find the right solution for posterity, one that would make Issie happy and to restore her to her rightful place in the fashion constellation."

The Summer is in full swing, which means I'm sure you've reached for your favourite swimwear at least once already! I know I wasn't the only one living in my bikini at Glastonbury. That's exactly the case for heiress Daphne Guinness, who has inspired a new eye shadow shade that will be named after her. The deep royal purple shade will be available July 15 and will be featured as part of the brand's Autumn collection. (We've had a peek, and it's gorgeous.)

The new host of Britain's Next Top Model Elle Macpherson appeared on Friday Night with Jonathan Ross this weekend. The model talked about being a mother, how she became 'The Body' and how she ended up being a model. To me, it was most insightful to hear her talking about being a Mother because it made her seem so normal! She talked about meeting Claudia Schiffer at the school gates and discussing their children and also joked that her son tells her, "You don't know anything about fashion." Amazingly, Elle is now 46 and she looked gorgeous in a Diesel Black Gold leather dress. I can't wait to see the new series of BNTM this evening.

Skins beauty Kaya Scodelario attended T4 on the Beach this weekend in Weston Super Mare. The actress looked casual for the event wearing black leggings, flat sandals and an oversized boyfriend shirt.
