On Our Radar: Alice McCall for Topshop

Back in March I told you about Alice McCall's plans to design for Topshop.

Back in March I told you about Alice McCall's plans to design for Topshop. Well, the highly anticipated collection by the Australian designer is finally in stores and online today. The line is feminine but slightly quirky featuring bold prints and funky shapes.

The pixelated floral prints used appear alongside a monochrome pallet for florals that are wearable for even the least girliest girls. Prices range from £35 - £60, many of the items have already sold out online but all the pieces are still available from the Oxford Circus flagship store. Let us know what you think and if you've bought anything from the capsule range already.

Pink-tastic Victoria Pins it Up Victoria Beckham pinned up her hair and hit Pink Taco — birthday restaurant of choice — with Cruz and some gorgeous pink accessories yesterday. I have no idea how she manages to walk in those heels, but I'm loving the Hermes Ostrich Birkin on her arm, and I'm not the only one who's a fan of Victoria's style. With the Sex and the City movie hitting our screens today, uber-stylist Patricia Field told Vogue "I love watching Victoria Beckham".

Simply Fab: Baby Grand Swarovski Gold Knickers

Who can forget that episode of Sex and the City in series 4 when Carrie takes to the catwalk with Heidi Klum in a pair of gold knickers and blue coat?!

Who can forget that episode of Sex and the City in series 4 when Carrie takes to the catwalk with Heidi Klum in a pair of gold knickers and blue coat?! In the episode, Carrie completely freaks out about the prospect but she obviously looks fabulous and despite a slight hiccup gets great applause.

So, when I spotted this image in The Sunday Times Style supplement I couldn't help but share with you Baby Grand's amazing Swarovski covered gold knickers (from £150). Wearing them would be difficult unless you are lucky enough to be blessed with supermodel legs but they're simply fab! How would you wear them?

Roberto Cavalli

Fab Field Day: Roberto Cavalli

Last night The Sunday Times hosted an evening with Roberto Cavalli at London College of Fashion as Colin McDowell held a conversation with the designer about his history and his designs.

Last night The Sunday Times hosted an evening with Roberto Cavalli at London College of Fashion as Colin McDowell held a conversation with the designer about his history and his designs. In between offers of a stay in Florence, a copy of his painted portrait and small gifts Roberto Cavalli treated a small audience to an evening of fun showing how one man can achieve so much through sheer passion.

Colin McDowell began the interview asking Cavalli about how he broke in to the world of fashion and despite being concerned that his English wasn't going to be good enough, he talked about the beginning of his career in Florence and life as an artist. He started off making printed t-shirts and claimed, "You don't need money, you just need to believe in yourself." And indeed Cavalli is living proof that this is true.

He quickly turned to the audience for questions taking over from Colin McDowell. He continually discussed the lack of ideas in fashion right now, insisting that instead of taking inspiration from the past we should create something new. "London has the best fashion in the world, but one problem, you don't know how to make it!" he laughed. read more

On Our Radar: Fifi Chachnil for Topshop

Vintage style underwear is having a bit of a revival and I can't help but feel that Amy Winehouse constantly showing us her bra has a part to play.

Vintage style underwear is having a bit of a revival and I can't help but feel that Amy Winehouse constantly showing us her bra has a part to play. Yesterday WWD announced that classic French lingerie house Fifi Chachnil will be the next name to design a diffusion line for Topshop.

The first capsule collection for the store will be unveiled on 20th July with pieces being sold for half the price of Chachnil's main line. Early predictions for the line involve being embellished with coral rosebud bows and vintage black lace. We can't wait to see it!

Look of the Day: Smart Shorts

During recent years shorts have quickly made their way in to the smart item genre combining sharp tailoring and funky style.

During recent years shorts have quickly made their way in to the smart item genre combining sharp tailoring and funky style. They must be worn with caution of course and it is important to dress up your top half too. Sugar reader DivaD did just that with her sunday best outfit.

I love the polka dot blouse, it adds a great shot of colour and the smart flats complete the look.

Here's what she's wearing:

  • Top: F21
  • Shorts: Old Navy
  • Shoes: Steve Madden

Congrats to DivaD on being today's Look of the Day. Remember to submit your looks and I might feature you on FabSugar! If you live outside of the US and have a Fab outfit to share, join the Overseas Fashionistas Group, to submit a Look in this group learn how to post a blog.

FABTV: Behind the Seams at the Chanel Cruise Extravaganza The Cruise collections continue to entice but the memory of one past is staying with me, largely due to the fact that we got a hold of this as-if-you-were-there Chanel video from the event in Miami. From guests, including Anna Wintour, schmoozing preshow to playing the waiting game, the clothes emerge accompanied by poppy, upbeat music (Mony Mony!).
