Yesterday afternoon, The Duke And Duchess Of Cambridge left their comfort zone at St. Mary's Hospital to give the world a glimpse of their Royal bundle of joy. Their first son was born on the 22nd of July and weighed eight pounds, six ounces which is just amazing considering Kate's petite frame. But what I love the most about these photos is that both William's mother and his wife chose a polta dot print for the reveal of their princes. Kate's happens to be a bespoke blue crêpe de chine dress by Jenny Packham, whilst Diana's was a green frock with a white collar. Take a peek at this slideshow for a few more photos that compare these milestone moments in the royal family.
It's July and that means the heat is (supposed to be) here and so is festival season. Hopefully you've been saving your pence for these fun splurges that range from round coloured sunnies to a leather bandeau, printed wide-leg trousers, floral heels and a raffia clutch. Madras was once a staple in the Summer during the 80s, but, like everything else in fashion, it took a repreive and then came back again. Kate Hudson was just spotted on the set of her new movie Good People in London earlier this week wearing a muted madras shirt, Alex Gerrard wore madras shorts on a run in Liverpool, and in New York, stylist Brad Goreski wore a mash up of madras to the CFDA Awards. Shop a multitude of madras clothing items below and leave a comment to let me know what you think of this bright, plaid print.
As it turns out, London Fashion Week is not only encouraging clothing designers to put together shows and presentations, but luxury British favourite accessories brand Smythson is also included in the lineup. The leather goods label is scheduled to host an event on Sunday September 15, sandwiched between Preen, Mulberry and Margaret Howell. Although we're not entirely sure what to expect, we do know that the showcase will feature their new Panama Tote bag, which will be available in red and this lovely Wedgewood blue shade.
Smythson is still rocking it out and I couldn't be happier. Last year they celebrated their 125th anniversary, expanded their Sloane Street store in Chelsea to 8,000 square feet, and opened up shop in Hong Kong. Hopefully with the push of former creative director Samantha Cameron and newly appointed design director Rory O'Hanlon, Smythson will have some modern surprises for us by September! Shop all kinds of Smythson specialties here and leave a comment to let me know which of their products are on your wish list this Summer!
Last night at Lancaster House in London, The Elephant Family threw an "Animal Ball" hosted by Prince Charles where fun fashionistas like the entire Delevigne clan, Jerry Hall, the Felder sisters and more gathered in furry masks, frocks and festive accessories. The event makes for some silly photos including two sets of sisters that arrived with matching outfits, hair, makeup and accessories that you can see by clicking on!
With the big tennis tourneys of the season all wrapped up, it's been fun taking a look back at the June/July months to see what celebrities have worn to support their favourite players in the stands. As it turns out, Pippa Middleton quite fancies tennis as we've seen her all decked out in the cutest of Summertime dresses to attend the Aegon Championships along with Wimbledon. Wimbledon, is the the most elite sporting event of the Summer, and celebrities like Kate Hudson, Victoria Beckham, Mollie King, Naomi Campbell, Pippa Middleton and more have been spotted in the bleachers and the private suites dressed to impress. Take a peek through this slideshow to see whose outfit you like best.
With Summer upon us, floral dresses seem to be all the rage all across the globe, particularly in the UK. Take note of Kelly Brook, Amber Atherton and Myleene Klass all seen in London recently styled in above the knee floral frocks. I've taken stock of what's out there to shop and have come up with 10 different on-trend styles. Shop them below and leave a comment to let me know which is your favourite!
On Sunday evening, Lady Gaga wore her Maison Martin Margiela Strapless Crepe Jumpsuit (£717 on offer now) which is part of the Spring/Summer 2013 Dèfilè Collection to the National Anthem Awards in New York City. She paired the outfit with a black lacquer strap across her eyes and black pumps, whilst Victoria Beckham wore the same jumpsuit earlier in the month to the Glamour Women Of The Year Awards. Out of these two, typically very differently styled ladies, who do you think wore it best?
Last week we showed you stills from the latest Mulberry Autumn/Winter campaign, and now the ad video is live for all the world to watch. Emma Watson just revealed to VogueUK in a shocking confessional that she owns eight pairs of shoes. Yes, it's true, I had to read it several times myself to believe it. The fashion maven feels satisfied with her collection. However, let's be straight here, it's not everyone that has the privaledge of borrowing clothing and accessories for red carpet apperances or events, so it's not as though she only rotates the eight pairs of footwear soley (no pun inteneded). But Emma certainly has a lot to say on the matter.
In the interview, she also discussed her new film, The Bling Ring and added, "It's almost like consumerism as a form of kleptomania. I've got about eight pairs of shoes and that's it. But it's easy for me to sound like a total hypocrite because, of course, I'm dressed in designer clothes right now." And when it comes to Paris Hilton's closet where some of the filming for the movie took place, she adds, "She could never wear all of those clothes and half of them were brand new and still had the price tag on. But I suppose she just bought them to have them. We've all bought things on impulse, but that's an entirely different thing."
In any event, I am curious to find out how many pairs of shoes you own. Leave a comment below to let me know!
Oh how we love you Mulberry, let us count the ways. It's exciting to find out that model of the moment, Cara Delevingne is the newest face of the label, starring in the ad campaign for the Autumn/Winter 2013 collection. Set in Shotover House in Oxfordshire, England, the theme of the shoot was a romantic woodland scene inside of an old manor. Using real owls and trees in the photos, what actually steals the show are the newest versions of the Bayswater Double Zip Tote along with the Willow, the new Primrose design and of course the clothing and other accessories showcased in oxblood, navy, taupe and emerald colours.
Although Mulberry released official images today, the excited 20-year old model, gave us all a little sneak peek on Instagram yesterday. Cara isn't new to the brand, she walked in their February runway show and has said that she's always been a fan. Join the club CD! Emma Hill, Creative Director for Mulberry, who incidentally has just announced that she is leaving the iconic brand said in a press release,
"The A/W 2013 collection was inspired by the English countryside and cosy, familiar rural scenes but with a dark, mysterious and seductive veil. Traditional fables, botanical prints and the earthiness of the countryside by night all played their part, and this sense of dark beauty was beautifully captured by Tim and Ronnie for the campaign. After closing our London Fashion Week show, Cara was the first name in my mind for this season, she’s beautiful, bold and British!"
Pippa Middleton has been picking up the slack for older sis Kate who has officially gone on maternity leave. If that means going to day one of Wimbledon, watching the men's Aegon Tennis Championship, or attending a wedding with some of the members of the Royal family, she seems up for the task. Such was the case this weekend when Pippa went to Lady Melissa Percy and Thomas van Straubenzee's church nuptials in Ainwick on Sunday wearing a Tabitha Webb peplum dress.
Pippa paired the black and white printed number with pointy patent Gucci Noah pumps (£360), a black and silver clutch and a Spring/Summer 2013 Olivia Roat hat adorned with small pearls and ornate feathers. Check out her outfit from all angles by clicking on, and don't miss out on seeing what Pippa has worn as a wedding guest in the past by clicking here!
Let the races commence! Ascot, the most anticipated fashion horse-racing event of the season kicked off lastTuesday and oodles of Royals came out to celebrate. Back in March, we learnt about all of the new fashion rules for the 2013 season, and as it turns out, the women on the front lines are looking more conservative, classy and stylish than ever. I've specifically taken interest in their head gear and have gathered photos of the most intricate looks for you to peruse here!
If there's one designer to keep on your radar it's Isabel Marant. The hot French clothing and accessories maven is about to launch an off the charts, affordable collection with H&M and her Blackson Boots that went on sale during the Wintertime are still as hot as ever. As you know, in the world of fashion, for an item to have this kind of star status and longevity, basically gives it cult status. The boots which come in black, taupe and deep red with various kinds of blue, white and silver stitching and studding are currently on sale now starting at £526. See Kate, Rosie, Abbey, Miranda and Alessandra wearing them off the catwalks and and on the streets by clicking on!
Although it's technically Spring with Summer just around the corner, the temperatures in the UK have not been favourable to sleeveless floral dresses and typical warm weather attire. That's why I've gathered a slough of cute, bright-coloured cropped cardigan sweaters for you to shop. Wear them over a dress like Holly Willoughby, Pippa Middleton and Jennifer Garner, with denim, trousers or as a cape over your shoulders with anything you fancy. They're the perfect accessory for Wimbledon, festival season and even work. Shop these cute cardi's below and leave a comment to let me know which hue is the best for you.
