One of the chicest no fuss hairstyles that can take you from day to night is the donut bun. Situated on the crown of the head with all of the hair pulled back off of your face (with the exception of fringe, if there is any to showcase), the length of the hair is wrapped and secured in a round shape. AnnaLynne McCord was spotted sporting this look at an event in Los Angeles this weekend, Gwen Stefani wore it Christmas toy shopping with her son and Peaches Geldof went to a Herve Leger fashion party with her hair piled high to the sky. Out of these three dashing dames, who do you think wore the donut bun best?
Rachel Bilson and Sarah Michelle Gellar stepped out to celebrate their new TV shows at last night's Showtime, CW, and CBS party for the TCA crowd at The Pagoda in Beverly Hills. Rachel and SMG will both be taking the stage during the press tour today to discuss their pilots, so check out BuzzSugar for all the Fall TV action from the TCA tour. Kristen Bell was also there to promote her upcoming Showtime series House of Lies while Kat Dennings was there for her "edgy" CBS comedy Two Broke Girls. Jason Segel represented the cast of How I Met Your Mother, and he chatted with Buzz about The Muppets Movie, playing a father on the show, and when he'll know it's the right time to leave.
Kim Kardashian was joined by her fiancé, Kris Humphries, last night at the launch party for Noon by Noor in LA's Sunset Tower. The engaged couple are back in LA following an extended stay in NYC, where Kim worked out with Heidi Klum, joined the judging panel for an episode of Project Runway, and hung out with wedding dress guru Vera Wang. They haven't publicly released the date of their upcoming nuptials, but many are speculating Kim and Kris will marry on Aug. 20. The major details are under wraps, but Kim was seen recently leaving a tailor's appointment with an Alexander McQueen bag that could perhaps be a clue to her designer picks. The televised nuptials could even feature a Stevie Wonder performance since Kim and Kris hung with Stevie's wife, Kai Milla Morris, yesterday. One detail that's certain is that Kim and Kris will head to Las Vegas soon for their his and hers bachelor and bachelorette weekends.
AnnaLynne McCord of 90210 has just dyed her hair a dark brown chestnut shade. The gal who we typically see as a bleach blonde has played with lowlights from time to time, but the most we've ever really seen her hair change is when she styles it super straight or ultracurly. What do you think of this deep, dark dye on AnnaLynne?
It's not exactly the way we wore our knotted tops in the '90s, but the easy-chic, slightly undone feel that comes with that tied top is back. We love the nonchalance of a knotted top with high-waist denim, or over our favorite printed sundresses like we've seen on celebrities. That said, we're taking styling notes from these lovely ladies. From AnnaLynne McCord's '70s-style take to Kristin Cavallari's breezy elegance, click through for a celebrity-inspired tutorial in outfitting your knotted tops for Summer.
The CW held its upfronts in NYC today, and the network announced it's adding six shows to its Fall lineup with stars like Sarah Michelle Gellar and Rachel Bilson. The programs include SMG's Ringer, which will air Tuesdays with 90210. Rachel, who shared a hug with costar Jaime King, was all smiles due to the success of her latest Josh Schwartz endeavor, Hart of Dixie. She shuttled between LA and North Carolina to shoot the pilot earlier this year and has lately kept the frequent flying miles coming between jaunts to France to work with Chanel's Karl Lagerfeld. The Vampire Diaries stars Nina Dobrev, Ian Somerhalder, and Paul Wesley were all in attendance to receive the news that their popular vampire series has been renewed. 90210 castmates AnnaLynne McCord, Shenae Grimes, and Tristan Wilds were in for similar celebrations. Another of the CW's hits, Gossip Girl, wrapped up this week with a dramatic season finale, though only newcomer Kaylee DeFer was on hand for this morning's press event.
Baliage is the art of painting in high- and lowlights into hair to keep it looking natural and less streaky or frosted. I used to do baliage when I dyed my hair a toffee shade, and my colourist would add in caramel and blond highlights in sections at random to keep it seemingly sun-kissed. It looks like 90210 star AnnaLynne McCord, Ashely Tisdale, and model Kathy Ireland all baliage from what I can see from their various appearances in New York and Los Angeles last night. What do you think of this hair technique?
Annalynne McCord was covered in blue paint yesterday, dressed up as a character from Avatar. She got the giggles as she shot the 90210 scene while filming in Brentwood, CA. Wearing a crop top and short skirt in the same colour as the body paint, she also had a tail to contend with as she shot a kissing scene with a costar — far from the glamour of the People's Choice Awards red carpet, which she dressed up for last weekend.
The ladies went short for the People's Choice Awards in LA last night. Presenter Malin Akerman chose a white J. Mendel dress and Taylor Swift went with a pretty peach frock by the same designer to accept her award for favourite country artist. Minka Kelly belted her Vivienne Westwood mini while AnnaLynne McCord stood out in a bright blue sheath. Emma Roberts donned a classic LBD, which was the perfect complement to Zac Efron's suit as they posed for pictures together. Plenty of other gorgeous gals came out for the big show, like the Kardashian sisters and a gown-wearing Ashley Tisdale. At the moment Minka and Taylor are battling it out for best dressed, so vote on all of Fab and Bella's polls, see all the winners, and check out the full gallery!
Over the past few weeks, I have noticed a trend emerging on the red carpet. Stylish ladies are moving away from the classic red carpet look, in favour of a more masculine one. The first to do this was Fearne Cotton at the 2010 Drapers Awards. She wore a tuxedo jacket with sequined leggings and heels. AnnaLynne McCord took menswear in a different direction by wearing a tie, cap sleeve shirt and tailored trousers to the Peoples Choice Awards. Most recently, Leighton Meester worked an androgynous look as she wore a suit to the 2010 Gotham Independent Film Awards. I always like it when people try something new. Are you a fan of androgynous dressing on the red carpet?
