I hate to say it, but I did warn you about the dreaded bare midrift last year. Now the trend has started to emerge on the High Street where the crop top is appearing in many stores.
Personally, the thought of bearing my midrift to anybody fills me with fear so I am not exactly excited for this '80s revival. There is a silver lining though, in that they are mostly being teamed with high waisted trousers for minimum flesh exposure. Cheryl Cole wore the style at the Brit Awards launch earlier this year, but would you wear a crop top?
This slinky jersey tee is from Topshop (£20).

Post a CommentNope - but that's mainly because I don't have a naturally uber flat stomach with an ultra thin waist. I have a cropped cache-coeur/cross-over top (not sure what the English term is) that I love, but it's really not flattering on bad days.. :/
Don't mind fitted cropped tops, it's the loose version that bugs me.
Although my stomach is usually flat (except for after I've eaten, I get a food baby ... you know, where it basically looks like you're 5 months along) I would never, ever wear a crop top. YUCK.
My midriff has not seen the light of day since I was 16 with a flat stomach and a pierced belly button, and that was a long time ago!
So er, no to the crop top. I do agree that it looks better with high waisted trousers though, and I guess you could work the cropped look with a vest underneath.
the 80's called, they want their crop tops back.
Nope, nobody is going to see my midriff!
That top is hideous.
