Winter 2011 Trend: The Return of the Peplum
Trend Alert: The Return of the Peplum

The Peplum is a Greek term meaning tunic, that describes a short piece of fabric that can be found attached to the waist of a jacket or a dress. This style was popular in the '40s and then again in the '80s and '90s. It is a wonderful way to enhance the female form by drawing a focus to a cinched waist and creating a shapely curve in the hips whilst also covering up anything bulging around the belly.
Blake Lively, Cheryl Cole, and Miranda Kerr certainly have nothing that they need to cover up; however, don't you agree that the peplum's on their dresses accentuate their tiny waists and make their figures look very feminine?
