Spring may well be upon us, but that doesn't mean that your boots must be cast aside. It's certainly not warm enough in the UK to bare any skin just yet, and nothing is more chic right now than thick black tights and ankle boots.
During fashion week I saw many women pairing this type of shoe with voluminous dresses. The great thing about ankle boots is that although the heel is high, your ankle is more supported than it would be in strappy sandals.
On the Autumn catwalks, lace up boots were everywhere adding a Victorian feel to a look. For example, they were at Qasimi and Marc by Marc Jacobs. So why not get ahead of the game and start wearing lace up boots now? Kate Moss already has a Balmain pair.

I love those boots. I want the Jeffrey Campbell boot.
1I am loving this trend! I really wanted a pair this year, but didn't get around to buying them, so will defs get some for next A/W. Maybe get some in the sale in the summer!
Love these Balmain ones. Guess are also doing a really cool open toed pair.
2My flatmate has a couple pairs of these by KG but I am SO not into it. Too Wicked Witch of the West for me ... all you need is a broomstick!
3I agree that they are a bit Wicked Witch of the West. I think that's why I like them!!!
4Eeeek! Not really my cup of tea!
5I also dislike how they cut you off at the ankle - so unflattering, especially if your legs aren't a mile long. I do like shoe-boots, however, as they have a much more flattering cut, and some, reveal a bit of ankle, which is very sexy.
6i hate this look, it reminds me of puss in boots when i was younger and the old women who lives in a shoe, those kind of shoes were in my picture book, too old fashioned looking for me.
