Donatella Versace gathered her famous friends and fans together last night at NYC's Pier 57 for the launch of her Versace For H&M collection. It was a huge event that featured a runway show of the colorful, studded designs in addition to a show from Prince and Nicki Minaj! Donatalla said on the black carpet that she was inspired to create the limited-edition line after seeing young people wearing vintage Versace, and that some of the patterns she used haven't been touched since her brother Gianni's death in 1997. Donatella's daughter Allegra Beck spoke with the press as well, saying she was hoping for a fun evening and that her favorite piece is the pink-studded frock.
Selma Blair was wearing Allegra's pick, and she stopped to chat about new motherhood. Her baby son, Arthur, was off at his hotel with a nanny named Polo, and she said motherhood is amazing — but that it's also hard, and people don't really dwell on that fact. Steven Dorff told us that he's had so many fun nights in Versace clothes, but he shouldn't really divulge what he got up to. Chace Crawford, meanwhile, revealed that his outfit was picked out by the kind people at Versace, and Chloe Moretz gushed for a moment about the joys of working with Johnny Depp and Tim Burton on Dark Shadows. Jessica Alba, Nicki Minaj, Ke$ha, and Abbie Cornish were among the other stylish ladies to check out the bash. Blake Lively was the last to arrive in a strapless mini and then headed inside to mingle with pals like Chace — stay tuned for more later today on PopSugar Rush!
Last night in New York City, celebrities, models and fashion fans such as Jessica Alba, Helena Christensen, Blake Lively, Emma Roberts, and Coco Rocha came out to celebrate the launch of the amazing new Versace for H&M collection. Sandra Bullock wore a sequined All Saints mini to attend last night's amfAR Inspiration Gala at LA's Chateau Marmont. She was joined on the black carpet by industry friends like her agent, Kevin Huvane. She shared space on the photo line with other leading ladies like Selma Blair and Garcelle Beauvais, and once inside, mingled with pals like Sean Penn and Colin Farrell, who brought his sister Claudine Farrell as his date. Kevin Huvane bought a Warhol painting for Sandra's son Louis during the evening's auction portion. Sandra joked about Kevin's buying Warhol's "Peaches" print for $14,000 while onstage addressing the crowd and paying tribute to Elizabeth Taylor. Sandra said, "I want to thank Kevin Huvane and Bryan Lourd for not being cheap f-cks and gifting my son with his first Warhol."
Sandra's back on the West Coast following a recent stay in NYC, where she joined best bud Ryan Reynolds to celebrate his 35th birthday. Ryan Reynolds brought girlfriend Blake Lively along for the bash at the club The Box, but the couple have now also left the Big Apple. Blake and Ryan are in Boston together, so he can continue working on R.I.P.D. with Jeff Bridges.
This has been a banner week for Stella McCartney as celebrities from London to Venice to New York City have been spotted in her designs. On Wednesday evening, Gwyneth Paltrow donned the 2012 houndstooth coat at a dinner for Coach in London. On that same night in New York, Doutzen Kroes wore a spotted body-con dress to the Missoni for Target pop-up store, and on Monday, Selma Blair wore a Stella LBD to a dinner at the 68th Venice Film Festival. Out of these three Stella McCartney pieces, which do you like the most?
The star-studded action at the Venice Film Festival continued over the weekend with Michael Fassbender stepping back into the spotlight Sunday for a Shame photo call alongside director Steve McQueen. Michael, who was before the cameras last week showing of Cronenberg's A Dangerous Method, changed out of his jeans and flip-flops to hit the red carpet for a premiere that night. James Franco was also busy that afternoon doing press for his movie Sal with costar Val Lauren. Yesterday, Selma Blair showed her postbaby body at a photo call, where she wore a green number from Roland Mouret and premiere for Dark Horse. Colin Firth lent his glamour to the proceedings at events for Tinker, Tailor, Solider, Spy, and his wife Livia was on hand for a special screening. Livia blogged about the evening for Vogue UK, saying she was more nervous than usual since she wore a dress of her own design. There's more action to come from Italy this week, as the festival continues until Friday.
A very pregnant Selma Blair held onto her baby bump as she joined Mandy Moore, Whitney Port, and other stylish young women at Siren Studios to help kick off Lucky Shops LA. The weekend sale features clothing and accessories handpicked by Lucky editors, at prices well below retail, and a handful of VIPs were invited to get a preview of the wares on the stylish evening. Whitney debuted a darker hair color as she posed for pictures, while Selma Blair paired a flowing neutral dress with Stella McCartney sandals, and Jenna Dewan went a little wild in a leopard-print caftan. Check out Fab for tips on rocking Jenna's look! Mandy, who has been lying low since her successful Oscars appearance, was on hand to snag a few deals, and her fellow actresses Rashida Jones and Rachael Leigh Cook were also among the ladies who came out to browse the racks.
Selma Blair, Leigh Lezark, Keri Hilson, Akon, and More Get Together For H&M's Fashion Against AIDS Collection
H&M turned up the volume for its fourth Fashion Against AIDS collection with a cool unisex collection featuring a top-notch list of supporters including Selma Blair, Leigh Lezark and her Misshapes crew, Penn Badgley, Keri Hilson, Sky Ferreira, Akon, Nikki Reed, Ginnifer Goodwin, Scissor Sisters, and Shiloh Fernandez. "I think it's really fitting that this collection is androgynous in style since the disease affects both men and women," said Selma Blair. "It's a universal thing and we are all in this together. It's a disease that can be avoided and it's especially tragic when our ignorance keeps us from safety."
The H&M Fashion Against AIDS collection will be available in H&M's Divided department starting April 26, with 25 percent of sales donated to the charity Designers Against AIDS (DAA) and various international HIV/AIDS prevention projects. Check out the celebs and musicians in the lookbook, plus a piece-by-piece breakdown — including prices — of every item in the collection!
