Scarlett Johansson's lacy plum Dolce & Gabbana gown is as form-fitting as ethereal brocaded numbers generally get, and there's something distinctly Victorian about the bodice and patterning. To offset the old-fashioned look of the material, her gown has a big keyhole back opening, and Scarlett's wearing casual, deconstructed hair and burnt orange eye shadow. I think that the dress should have been opaque, rather than lace over satin, but I really like the whole look. The hair should have been a tad neater (this is the Oscars!), but goes well with the dress.

I think this is a great look on Scarlett, very different. Loved the back of the dress, and her hair cut is fantastic (go break-up haircuts!).

I thought she looked amazing and much better then she did with the bride of Frankenstein look at the SAGs? or whatever awards it was, her dress looked SO much better in motion on camera though

So inappropriate for the Oscars. I don't hate the dress, but it's not right for the occasion. The hair and makeup is atrocious. I expected so much more from a veteran of the red carpet.

This look is all wrong. Her hair is too messy. Her eyeshadow is the wrong color. I dislike her dress. She usually looks so amazing!
