Sarah Michelle Gellar gave birth to her second child last week! Her rep confirmed to Us Weekly that "mother and baby are doing great and Charlotte is VERY excited to be a big sister."
SMG and husband Freddie Prinze Jr. announced that they were expecting a boy in July. Congrats to the new family of four!
Sarah Michelle Gellar was on hand at the Riviera Country Club in Pacific Palisades, CA, this morning for Operation Shower. The actress played host at the event, which honored military moms whose husbands are currently deployed, and capped things off by giving each woman in attendance a new crib. The free furniture came from Pottery Barn Kids, the organization SMG was representing in her role today. We had a chance to chat with the Ringer star and mom during the festivities. Sarah Michelle told us it was the second baby shower she's thrown this week, having also hosted a soiree for her best friend, who joined her for today's celebration.
Many of the women in attendance today were expecting, and we asked Sarah Michelle if her 2-year-old daughter with Freddie Prinze Jr., Charlotte, has been asking for a little brother or sister lately. She told us her toddler is actually much more focused on bringing home a kitten than a new baby! Unfortunately, SMG told us she's allergic to cats but says a pet could still likely be the next addition to their family of three. InStyle hosted another of its famous post-Golden Globes bashes at the Beverly Hilton Hotel last night! As always, the magazine gathered some of the biggest stars from TV and film. Will Arnett and Amy Poehler joked around on the party's red carpet, while Sofia Vergara prepped to celebrate Modern Family's best comedy series win. Rachel Zoe wore a dress from her own collection to mingle with friends, and Orlando Bloom threw an arm around his Dolce and Gabbana-clad wife Miranda Kerr on the way inside.
Miranda and Orlando didn't have projects in the running last night, but they had plenty to toast anyway — Orlando had a birthday Friday, and Miranda was just named a new celebrity ambassador for Qantas Airways. They had plenty of famous pals to share Moët with last night, including Kate Beckinsale, Sarah Michelle Gellar, and Zooey Deschanel. The red carpet at last night's Golden Globe Awards was filled with stars in their finest looks. Charlize Theron stole the show in a gorgeous Dior gown while Kate Winslet, who picked up the award for best actress in Mildred Pierce, posed in a black and white look by Jenny Packham. Angelina Jolie arrived on the arm of Brad Pitt in a neutral Atelier Versace with a pop of red. Presenter Kate Beckinsale wore Roberto Cavalli for her turn on the carpet with husband Len Wiseman and Fashion Star's Nicole Richie got glamorous in a beaded Julien Macdonald number and a House of Harlow clutch.
Red was a hot color this evening with presenter Reese Witherspoon in a sexy, fitted Zac Posen and George Clooney's girlfriend, Stacy Keibler, in a brightly hued Valentino gown with a bow detail. Natalie Portman went bright in a pink Lanvin after spending the weekend with her family in Santa Monica. The Help's Viola Davis showed leg in Emilio Pucci and Emma Stone broke away from her green streak with a two-tone Lanvin look.
Things took a dark turn with a group of ladies choosing classic black for the big event. Rooney Mara, who was nominated for best actress in The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo, continued her run of daring ensembles with a cutout Nina Ricci. Mila Kunis presented the best supporting actor award with Gerard Butler in Dior while Julianne Moore went with a strapless Chanel. One of the evening's winners, Claire Danes, showed skin in a backless J Mendel and presenter Salma Hayek rocked an edgy Gucci as she arrived with husband Francois-Henri Pinault.
There was more color mixing up the carpet with Modern Family's Sofia Vergara in a blue fishtail Vera Wang and Kelly Osbourne in a Zac Posen gown of the same hue. My Week With Marilyn winner Michelle Williams accepted her statue in a velvety Jason Wu while Melissa McCarthy took her turn in front of the cameras in a green Badgley Mischka and Evan Rachel Wood wowed in a Gucci Premiere halter.

Rachel Bilson and Sarah Michelle Gellar stepped out to celebrate their new TV shows at last night's Showtime, CW, and CBS party for the TCA crowd at The Pagoda in Beverly Hills. Rachel and SMG will both be taking the stage during the press tour today to discuss their pilots, so check out BuzzSugar for all the Fall TV action from the TCA tour. Kristen Bell was also there to promote her upcoming Showtime series House of Lies while Kat Dennings was there for her "edgy" CBS comedy Two Broke Girls. Jason Segel represented the cast of How I Met Your Mother, and he chatted with Buzz about The Muppets Movie, playing a father on the show, and when he'll know it's the right time to leave.
The first annual Critics' Choice Television Awards brought together some of TV's best this afternoon at the Beverly Hills Hotel. The shows that took home the biggest wins of the day were best drama series Mad Men and best comedy series Modern Family, but many individual actors were honored for their work as well. Busy Philipps embraced Elijah Wood, who presented her with her statuette for best supporting actress in a comedy, before giving an emotional speech on the podium. Sarah Michelle Gellar also took the stage to dole out an honor as she gears up for her own return to the small screen this Fall. She'll star in the new show The Ringer, which requires her to play dual roles as twin sisters on the CW. Lots of stars took advantage of the chance to catch up and pose for pictures backstage. Busy cracked jokes with The Office's B.J. Novak, Jon Hamm got silly with his best leading actor in a drama award, and Modern Family's Sarah Hyland said hello to Community's Danny Pudi. TV fans who want to see all of today's action unfold can tune into the Critics' Choice Television Awards this Wednesday night at 8 p.m., EDT, on the Reelz Channel.
The CW held its upfronts in NYC today, and the network announced it's adding six shows to its Fall lineup with stars like Sarah Michelle Gellar and Rachel Bilson. The programs include SMG's Ringer, which will air Tuesdays with 90210. Rachel, who shared a hug with costar Jaime King, was all smiles due to the success of her latest Josh Schwartz endeavor, Hart of Dixie. She shuttled between LA and North Carolina to shoot the pilot earlier this year and has lately kept the frequent flying miles coming between jaunts to France to work with Chanel's Karl Lagerfeld. The Vampire Diaries stars Nina Dobrev, Ian Somerhalder, and Paul Wesley were all in attendance to receive the news that their popular vampire series has been renewed. 90210 castmates AnnaLynne McCord, Shenae Grimes, and Tristan Wilds were in for similar celebrations. Another of the CW's hits, Gossip Girl, wrapped up this week with a dramatic season finale, though only newcomer Kaylee DeFer was on hand for this morning's press event.
Sarah Michelle Gellar and Freddie Prinze Jr. have welcomed a new baby daughter! Sarah gave birth to their first child this weekend in Los Angeles, and the couple have named her Charlotte Grace Prinze.
Sarah's rep said that she and Freddie are "over the moon." Sarah announced her pregnancy back in April, and the twosome tied the knot back in 2002.
