It may not be one of the "big four," but Berlin Fashion Week delivers some surprise treats if you take the time to look. Fans of vintage-inspired design will definitely want to make a mental note of Lena Hoschek's name, as this Austrian designer is the queen of the high-end retro dress. For close to a decade, the former assistant of Vivienne Westwood has been taking inspiration from the pinup era, creating feminine designs with '40s- and '50s-inspired silhouettes, often full-skirted, always nipped in at the waist. Her fatale-style catwalk collection in Berlin featured matte sequins, heavy textiles, plenty of red, and some sexy sheer and strappy details. If you're more interested in the designer's European heritage, she also does an amazing line of traditional dirndl dresses.
