Paris Hilton in a Chanel Pearl Necklace

Paris Hilton was recently spotted wearing a Chanel pearl necklace with intertwined CCs. I happen to have the classic, simple version of this bauble, but oftentimes feel quite showy and uncomfortable wearing it because the Chanel Cs are so in your face. I happen to think Paris looks quite elegant here, and they look natural as opposed to gaudy on her, so why do they make me feel so uncomfortable?
