Barbara Hulanicki, the founder of the original Biba, is one of my favourite designers and is currently experiencing a bit of a revival. This holds no bearing on the Biba revival but rather through her own collaborations including one with Graham & Brown to design wallpaper and one with Italian accessory house Coccinelle.
The bags for Coccinelle feature the iconic art deco Biba design and are available from just £45. I am pleased that the designer is having a resurgence, I wonder if she'll soon create a capsule collection for a High Street store? I'd be first in line for that.
Garden Collection
Oh this is great news! I love this woman.
The Biba relaunch was so misconceived and went against everything the original Biba was meant to represent, it's no wonder it flopped.
1I love her original designs, the store, everything. Wasn't impressed with the relaunch. But this looks interesting, and I love the affordability. Oh man if there was a capsule collection... I swear I'd fly myself over to the UK to be in line for opening day!
