Get in the Glam With MAC and Lady Gaga's New Digital Movement

As part of her ongoing work with MAC's Viva Glam campaign, Lady Gaga has enlisted her little monsters in a new digital, interactive effort that just launched on the VivaGlam site.

As part of her ongoing work with MAC's Viva Glam campaign, Lady Gaga has enlisted her little monsters in a new digital, interactive effort that just launched on the VivaGlam site. The campaign, dubbed "Glam This Way," gives MAC and Lady Gaga fans the chance to raise HIV/AIDS awareness among those in their own social networks.

One of the coolest things about the campaign is how the company plans to celebrate the efforts of those who join; Lady Gaga's friend and stylist Nicola Formichetti will create a couture design composed of fan images, which Gaga will wear in the Fall. Cool, right? You can find out how to become a part of Gaga's movement (and see my "Total Glam") when you read more.

After appearing on the catwalk at Paris Fashion Week, Lady Gaga is continuing her love affair with Thierry Mugler by wearing a coat from the design house on the cover of i-D Magazine. She is the perfect cover girl for the "Exhibitionist Issue" and was styled by Nicola Formichetti. Mariano Vivanco snapped Gaga as she posed in minimal clothing. The popstar reportedly bought the whole Mugler collection after the show! What do you make of this cover?

Watch the Thierry Mugler Autumn '11 Paris Fashion Week Show

Nicola Formichetti presented his first womenswear collection for Thierry Mugler last night as part of Paris Fashion Week.

Nicola Formichetti presented his first womenswear collection for Thierry Mugler last night as part of Paris Fashion Week. The show was theatrical so I couldn't resist sharing a video with you. The main star of the show was Lady Gaga who walked in the show (as expected) alongside top models Coco Rocha and Jessica Stam. The models really give a performance in this show, although the shoes seem to provide a challenge for some! It was a very sexy collection with tight fitting pieces in PVC and rubber with statement shoulders in a palette of black, nude and cobalt. Watch the collection here and see below for photos of Lady Gaga.

Lady Gaga Previews New Track in Thierry Mugler Video

Earlier this week, Nicola Formichetti was talking about his first collection for Thierry Mugler and he promised to embrace online.

Earlier this week, Nicola Formichetti was talking about his first collection for Thierry Mugler and he promised to embrace online. Well, the designer has stuck to his word and already released this video which combines elements of the catwalk show along with tattooed model Rico Zenest. Lady Gaga previewed a track from her new album at the show and it features on this video. The remixed song will probably leave everybody quoting, "I don't speak German, but I can if you'd like!" for the rest of 2011, but does the hype over the song take the attention too much away from the collection?

Formichetti is Reinventing Thierry Mugler With a Little Help from Gaga

Nicola Formichetti has helped Lady Gaga to rise to fame with some show stopping ensembles (he styled her in the infamous meat dress), and now she is returning the favour.

Nicola Formichetti has helped Lady Gaga to rise to fame with some show stopping ensembles (he styled her in the infamous meat dress), and now she is returning the favour. Formichetti was announced as the new creative director last Autumn, and is about to present his first collection at Paris Menswear fashion week. The show will be the premiere of Gaga's new track which she has remixed especially and tailored to the collection. The show will be streamed via the Mugler website tomorrow at 5pm. Formichetti explained the collaboration, "I want people to think, ‘OK, there’s something new happening.’ I want people to get excited again, not only fashion people." Gaga is expected to be more involved in the womenswear show in March and she already has some custom made Mugler costumes.

Formichetti has been looking in to the archive of Mugler and is a big fan of the brand, but doesn't intend to repeat anything, he said, "It was perfect for the time. I’m going to do something for today and the future." He still wants to stay true to the dramatic silhouettes for which the label is famous but added,

"I want to give power to the people in a more human way. They need to feel confident inside. He was about superhumans. For me, it’s a little more emotional, romantic. I want to give dreams and fantasy and all those things — and I want people to wear those clothes."

He has released an image giving hints of what to expect from the collection which features model Rick Genest who has tattooed his entire body to look like a skeleton. Will you be tuning in to watch the show tomorrow?

The actor was shot by Steven Klein and styled by Nicola Formichetti for these wintery photos where he poses in Heat Tech pieces. Orlando described the brand as offering "good quality clothing for a very good price" and that they're "real clothes for real people". You can watch a behind the scenes video here. Nicola Formichetti, who is probably best known right now for being the driving force behind Lady Gaga's much talked about style, has today landed a role as creative director at Thierry Mugler. Nicola has been working with Dazed & Confused and Another Magazine for many years and is also the fashion director of Vogue Hommes Japan.

There was much speculation as to who would take on the reigns of Theirry Mugler with names like Gareth Pugh being thrown around. Nicola will present his first collection for Autumn 2011. He released a statement saying, "My approach is personal and always very eclectic. I’d like to find new ways for a luxury brand such as Thierry Mugler to excite people.”

It's been a good month for Nicola as he was also nominated for a gong at the British Fashion Awards 2010. I am excited to see what new life he breathes in to the label, do you think Nicola is a good match for this luxury fashion house?

British Fashion Awards Nominations Are Announced

The nominees for the 2010 British Fashion Awards have been announced today and it's quite an exciting list!

The nominees for the 2010 British Fashion Awards have been announced today and it's quite an exciting list! Big international names Christopher Bailey, Phoebe Philo and Christopher Kane are nominated for designer of the year. Also, it must be an exciting day in the Beckham household as Victoria is nominated for her first British Fashion Award. Perhaps the most interesting category for me is the Isabella Blow Award for Fashion Creator as nominees include both Nick Knight and Nicola Formichetti – who are both friends of Lady Gaga! Hopefully she will therefore be present on 7th December when the winners are announced.

The London 25 award will be sticking around too, but under the new named of British Style Award. You will be able to vote for the winner of this via the official site soon. Last year, Kate Moss bagged that gong.

Chariman of the British Fashion Council Harold Tillman commented,

“This year’s nominees are a reflection of the incredible vision and breadth of talent British designers offer. From the truly unique and inspiring collections by the designers nominated in the Emerging Talent categories to the remarkable impact designer brands Burberry, Mulberry, Pringle of Scotland and Victoria Beckham continue to make on the industry, the creativity of our designers drives forward the British fashion industry and we’re very proud to be celebrating this.”
