Miranda Kerr took a walk on the wild side Thursday night when she accompanied designer Roberto Cavalli to the opening of his Just Cavalli flagship store in New York's SoHo neighborhood. For the occasion, Kerr chose a gown that combines leopard print — one of Cavalli's favourite prints — with black fabric. She accented the dress with a black leather studded belt and a snakeskin clutch. Do you think this look works, or do these elements not play well together?
The past year brought us more than a few memorable award-show moments, with the biggest names in music and movies being recognized for their work. From Jennifer Lawrence and Anne Hathaway's big Oscar wins to Justin Timberlake returning to the Grammys stage, the stars have had plenty of cute, candid snaps. George Clooney and Amy Poehler cozied up at the Golden Globes, Katy Perry gave Ellen DeGeneres an eyeful when they hit up the Grammys, and the world couldn't stop talking about Miley Cyrus's twerk-filled MTV VMAs performance with Robin Thicke. Meanwhile, Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux made the Oscars party rounds with Miranda Kerr and Orlando Bloom, and Brad Pitt joined Angelina Jolie on the red carpet when she was recognized at the Governors Awards. Click through for those moments — and many, many more — from 2013's biggest award shows!
Miley Cyrus has done it again! The singer showed off a very new look on Instagram early Wednesday morning when she shared several snaps of herself with bleached eyebrows. It isn't clear why Miley ditched her brows, but she showed off the new look while hanging out with Miranda Kerr at an event. The new look could be for Sunday night's American Music Awards, where Miley is expected to perform alongside other pop acts like Lady Gaga and Justin Timberlake. Her 21st birthday is also coming up on Saturday.
Last week, Miley traveled around Europe and scooped up awards at two different award shows, the MTV EMAs in Amsterdam and the Bambi Awards in Berlin. Miley caused controversy at the EMAs when she lit up a joint while accepting her award on stage. While Miley wouldn't be allowed to do drugs at the AMAs, everyone is waiting to see what the young singer will do next.
What do you think of Miley's new look? Be sure to vote in our poll on Miley's no-eyebrows statement.
Miranda Kerr may no longer be a Victoria's Secret Angel, but that doesn't mean that she isn't still a sought-after model. The Australian beauty wrapped up her trip to Japan on Thursday after jetting out earlier this week to celebrate Elle Japan with Michael Kors at a party on Wednesday night. The fashionable bash fell on the same day as the famed Victoria's Secret Fashion Show, which took place in New York City. Although Miranda parted from the brand earlier this year, she was reportedly still asked to walk in the show but had to skip out on the fun for her trip to Asia. "They asked me to walk in the show, and I really wanted to, but I have to be in Asia that week," Miranda said back in October.
Despite not walking in the show, Miranda still sent love to the Angels on Instagram, posting a throwback photo of herself yesterday with Doutzen Kroes and Alessandra Ambrosio and writing, "Sending love and best wishes to the Victoria's Secret Angels from Japan."
The Victoria's Secret Fashion Show is tonight! The big event doesn't air until Dec. 10 on CBS, but we're getting ready by taking a look at all the backstage chaos, hot performances, and runway glamour from years past. From the over-the-top set designs to the barely-there lingerie, it's pretty amazing to see how far the show has come since the late '90s. See Gisele Bündchen, Heidi Klum, Naomi Campbell, Alessandra Ambrosio, Miranda Kerr, and even performers like Justin Timberlake and Usher when you click through now.
Miranda Kerr and Orlando Bloom have separated after three years of marriage, E! Online reports. Orlando's rep confirmed the sad news in a joint statement, saying, "Orlando Bloom and Miranda Kerr have announced that they have been amicably separated for the past few months," adding, "After six years together, they have recently decided to formalize their separation."
Orlando and Miranda began dating in 2007 and tied the knot in July 2010. Their son, Flynn, was born the following year. The family has been living in NYC while Orlando stars in the Broadway production of Romeo and Juliet. He and Miranda made their last public appearance together on the show's opening night in September but were spotted out together in Manhattan earlier this month. Miranda also opened up about Orlando's onstage role in November's issue of Cosmopolitan, saying, "For someone to be able to learn all that and hold the energy to do it every day, six days a week — I have so much respect for him."
You'd think it would be difficult for an internationally known style setter like Miranda Kerr to pick just one favorite fashion moment, but you'd be wrong. Last week at an event for Stuart Weitzman's 5050 boot, Kerr told us that one of her most memorable outfits was the dress she wore when InStyle Australia awarded her with a very high honour just last year.
"In Australia, I won an award for Woman of the Year for my skin care line, Kora Organics, and I wore this dress," she said. "It was like a light blue, almost white color, and it had a low back, and I had Bulgari earrings, and it was beautiful."
The dress, created by Australian designer Carla Zampatti, was so beautiful that we actually made a video featuring it just last year.
Kerr also told us about another special outfit — what her son Flynn wants to be for Halloween.
"I was asking him today what he wanted to be, and he said he wanted to be Superman," she said. "I thought that was pretty cute; he can have his little cape. I said, 'You can be SuperFlynn!'"
It was a meeting of the street style giants at the 20th anniversary party for the Stuart Weitzman 5050 boot. Olivia Palermo and Miranda Kerr both chose to style their pairs with similarly dark ensembles. Olivia opted to style her dark brown pair with a lace top, which she layered underneath a short-sleeved, double-breasted jacket that we saw multiple times during fashion month. Miranda reached for a classic black top and dark jeans, which she tucked into her black pair of over-the-knee boots. Not much else was needed to finish off their casual cool looks — no doubt proving their supreme street style prowess.
Vanessa Hudgens and Miranda Kerr showed that sexiness can come in many different sartorial forms at the Unbound Access presentation. Vanessa Hudgens opted for classic separates, pairing a silky white blouse with a shiny black pencil skirt detailed with a metal zipper. Her outfit received finishing touches from a delicate gold necklace, which accented the low neckline of her top, and pair of classic black pumps. Meanwhile, Miranda Kerr went sleek and body-conscious in a printed Hervé Léger dress with black seamwork that followed every curve of her body. She then polished off her outfit by adding a complementary pop of color with her blue pumps.
While Miranda Kerr first caught our attention on catwalks and magazine covers, it's her street style that has us on constant Miranda watch. With a cool mix of polished pieces and laid-back essentials, Miranda makes outfitting for the everyday look easy — and a lot more exciting than your average Monday-through-Friday ensembles. Sure, we've got a soft spot for her sexy red carpet dresses, but Miranda proves that even running errands can be a good reason to dress up. Her penchant for slick separates, like blazers and leather trousers, mix perfectly with her softer sheer maxis, tailored trousers, and denim cutoffs for an off-duty uniform that we're dying to steal. For now, we'll settle for a style lesson with a look at some of her best looks.
