This season sees the return of shoes as a statement accessory in a big way. The handbag has become merely functional as all eyes are down checking out footwear. Personally, I am more of a fan of shoes so this is music to my ears, but I always seem to fall for the most expensive pair!

Earlier this week when I was telling you about the current penchant for zip back heels, I came across this rather beautiful pair by Sergio Rossi (£406). Sadly, I do not quite have the budget for this designer pair, but I found a great alternative.

These black strappy sandals from Oli (£25) are not as high on the ankle as the Sergio Rossi shoes but are otherwise very similar. They're satin with zip detail and great for the summer party season.
