Whilst most of us are just getting to grips with eco fashion and giving ourselves a pat on the back for choosing second hand rather than High Street, Livia Firth is upping the stakes. The wife of Colin made an impressive statement on the red carpet at the Golden Globes as she wore not just an eco friendly gown, but a "re-purposed" wedding dress.
Livia runs an environmentally friendly boutique, Eco Age in West London and explained all about her gown on her Vogue blog, "The re-purposed Christiana Couture wedding dress was a HUGE success in the sense that I don't think I’ve ever had so many compliments for a dress in one night." Her eco stance has now landed her the role of reporting on the carbon footprint of dresses throughout award season.
It seems like celebrities better choose their dresses very carefully in 2010 or risk being named and shamed. Are you impressed by Livia's efforts to help the environment yet remaining chic?

I love this; not because I care about being "green;" but because it's so responsible to reuse anything - I hare wastefulness. However; I don't think people should be ashamed to wear new clothing; and I don't think anyone has the right to "shame" them for doing so...
1and that dress is gorgeous!
