While we've loved Keri Russell's style since her earliest Felicity days (oversize sweaters and all), it's entirely possible that her sophisticated grown-up dressing has trumped anything that came before. Looking fabulous hitting the promo circuit for new film Austenland, she regularly forgoes frilly, fancy, or embellished in favour of sleek and simple basics. The jeans and white blouse she put together for a recent afternoon in New York City was the sort of style perfection we're talking about. And because she knows the power of a statement accessory, she added a finishing touch with bold, buckled Roger Vivier heels.
Keri Russell shows off her extremely toned stomach on the cover and inside of May's Women's Health. Thanks to her physically demanding role on the FX series The Americans, Keri's in amazing shape. It looks like she can continue to enjoy the exercise perks of playing a Soviet sleeper agent in the US during the '80s — the show has already been renewed for a second season. In her interview with Women's Health, Keri spoke about the challenges of balancing being a mom of two with a leading role on the small screen. Keri also hilariously shared insight into how she prioritizes — namely through wearing the same outfit again and again and keeping her skin care simple. Here are excepts from the video online accompanying Keri's Women's Health issue:
- On dressing simply: "Honestly, my number one style rule is wear one outfit a week, which I do. I wear it all week long. The people at work are like 'Oh, that's the same outfit.' And I'm like 'yeah.' Because guess what? I, I put it on in the morning, I take it off at work, and I put it back on at night. I wear it all of maybe 20 minutes. So I wear one outfit a week."
- On her skin care routine: "What do I use on my skin? Oh gosh, whatever I have in my drawer at this time. I mean, I'm working a lot right now so it's kind of like whatever I got in some gift box that's left over. Or baby cream, from my kids."
- On her perfect weekend: "The perfect weekend for me right now is sleep, sleep, girlfriends, glass of wine, and a delicious meal with lots of food. One thing you would be surprised to learn about me is that I eat everything. I, I am crazy for dessert. I eat everything. No one should be denied anything. You should be able to have a little bit of everything, just don't eat the whole thing."
Keri Russell is pregnant again! Keri's rep confirmed to PopSugar that she and her husband Shane Deary are expecting their second child. Keri and Shane's first son, River, was born in 2007 and just turned four in June. It's a big week for Keri, since it was also announced that she will be starring in a new romantic comedy, Austenland, produced by Twilight's Stephenie Meyer.
Keri Russell, Shane, and River make a picture perfect trio out and about near their Brooklyn home and it will be exciting to see their family expand. Congrats to the adorable and growing Russell-Deary family!
Twilight's author is about to sink her teeth into Jane Austen. Stephenie Meyer will produce Austenland, with Keri Russell attached to star in the indie romantic comedy. Russell will play a woman obsessed with one of literature's most famous leading men, Pride and Prejudice's Mr. Darcy. Since no real man can measure up to the fictional character, she goes to a Jane Austen-themed resort where visitors dress and act the part of Austen characters. Jennifer Coolidge, Jane Seymour, and Flight of the Conchords's Bret McKenzie will also costar, and Napoleon Dynamite cowriter Jerusha Hess is set to direct.
With this project, Meyer takes the leap to producing the material of others (she has served as producer of the Twilight films). However, she may still be somewhat in her comfort zone, since this is another book-to-movie project: Austenland is an adaptation of Shannon Hale's novel.
