Katie Holmes modeled a red leather jacket and sexy LBD on one of two covers for the November issue of Marie Claire. We saw her posing for the spread in this ab baring sexy dress over the Summer and now Katie's gorgeous photos are being revealed in addition to new quotes about family life in the magazine, which hits newsstands on Oct. 25. She said:
- Katie on her future plans: "I feel ready... for the next chapter of my life. I’m excited to begin a new phase: roles I might have been afraid to play before, places I want to travel to with my daughter. I’d like to build the design business. But not too fast."
- Katie on simplifying her life: "I’m thinking about getting rid of [my mobile phone]. Wouldn’t it be great to have an old-fashioned phone sheet? Go to your office, make your calls, and then continue with your day?"
- On Suri having famous parents: "Being around this business, my daughter is exposed to people with incredible talent, people who are the best at what they do. People I only dreamed of getting to work with as a little girl."
Emma Stone wore striped Luca Luca to join fellow Hollywood starlets like Jessica Alba, Amber Heard, Rashida Jones, and Katie Holmes for Giorgio Armani and Vanity Fair's private dinner in LA last night. Super stylist Rachel Zoe was decked out in black to pose before the exclusive meal. It was Katie's latest outing with the brand after attending many of its shows over the years. Katie Holmes's wedding dress was even Armani! There were plenty of men represented, too: Adam Brody dressed up for the event as did Josh Hartnett, Aaron Eckhart, newly single James Marsden, and Darren Criss. It was a date night for Mark Wahlberg and Rhea Durham as well as J. Edgar star Armie Hammer and his wife Elizabeth Chambers. Emma attended after a long day on the set of The Gangster Squard with her two-time costar Ryan Gosling — the duo also acted together in Crazy Stupid Love. Katie Holmes, meanwhile, has been hanging out on the West Coast and shopping with her daughter, Suri Cruise, following their weekend visit to Tom Cruise on the Pittsburgh production site of One Shot. The debut of Katie's next acting gig is coming up, too, when the Halloween episode of How I Met You Mother, in which she plays the infamous "slutty pumpkin," finally airs.
Tousled buns have been all over red carpets as of late, and here's Katie Holmes getting in on the trend. But what's striking about Katie's overall look is its minimalism. In lieu of accessories galore and tons of sparkle, Katie has opted for a simple, straight, tank-style gown, with nary an earring or bangle in sight. A touch of smoky shadow and a skinny gold belt add a bit of elegance to her royal blue frock. Are you digging Katie's look?

Katie Holmes is great at low-key glamour, and tonight her look at the VMAs is no exception. Her dress is a simple peach midlength piece with black lace overlay and a thick band at the waist to create pretty proportions. Her camel lace-up booties don't match the dress but also don't clash. Beauty wise, she's wearing long, soft waves and natural-looking makeup. She's almost always subtle, but given some of the other looks we've seen come down the black carpet at this show, do you think it's a little informal?

The MTV VMAs were packed with excitement in LA tonight. The show opened with a performance by Lady Gaga in character as Jo Calderone, which she even maintained when presenting Britney Spears with the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award later in the night. Kanye West and Jay-Z took the stage after being announced as performers just hours before things got started. The Watch the Throne duo rocked their hit "Otis," though the song was almost disrupted by a fan who rushed the stage. Another hot performance of the evening was by Jay-Z's wife Beyoncé Knowles, who belted out "Love On Top," and showed off her growing baby bump in front of the audience. Justin Bieber took home the moon man for best male video while Katy Perry was honored with three awards, one of which she accepted with Kanye for their collaboration on "E.T." Russell Brand took the stage to introduce a special tribute to Amy Winehouse, which included a performance by Bruno Mars, and Kim Kardashian stepped out in a sexy dress as a presenter. Katie Holmes also presented an award and Jennifer Lawrence, who joined the show via video from the set of The Hunger Games in North Carolina, shared a short clip from the movie. Katie Holmes laced up her Proenza Schouler booties and struck a pose on the MTV VMAs carpet in LA tonight. She was decked out in a crochet dress for the event, though she was without the temporary tattoo that she wore on her wrist last week. Katie's scary movie Don't Be Afraid of the Dark hit theaters on Friday and had a solid opening at the box office over the weekend. It looks like she's ready to celebrate at tonight's show, which already saw performances by Jay-Z and Kanye West and Lady Gaga. Katie Holmes wrapped up a long day of press in NYC yesterday by stopping at Late Night With Jimmy Fallon. She's out and about chatting up her scary movie Don't Be Afraid of the Dark, which is out on Aug. 26, and she spent the afternoon with producer Guillermo del Toro and costar Bailee Madison at the junket. We were there and saw Katie and Bailee tucking into a plate of desserts once the interviews were over! Katie and Jimmy spoke about the film and then played a game of Pictionary with an audience member. They then reminisced about meeting 10 years ago when she hosted SNL before she revealed that she was leaving the Big Apple last night in order to make the season finale taping of So You Think You Can Dance with her pal Nigel Lythgoe.
Classic style calls to mind an arsenal of wardrobe staples — the crisp white button-down, a wide-leg trouser, camel coats, perfect jeans, and ballet flats — and an easy way of looking put-together that has withstood the test of time. Certain women stick out in our mind as perfect examples of classic style; their subtle elegance is something we're looking to channel this Fall. You can never go wrong taking style cues from past greats like Audrey Hepburn and Jackie Kennedy, a young Candice Bergen (pictured above), or modern-day stars like Gwyneth Paltrow and Angelina Jolie. Trends come and go, but these women show us how to capture timeless beauty with the simplest pieces. Click our slideshow to see the 20 classic style icons we're looking to emulate this Fall.
Katie Holmes rocked a pair of red leather pants last night for an interview on The Tonight Show. She sat down with Jay Leno to chat about her upcoming movie Don't Be Afraid of the Dark as well as her super-hot Vogue España cover. The scary movie comes out later this month on Aug. 26, and Katie revealed that her own fears center around raccoons. Katie and Jay also spoke fashion. As to what Katie will not wear, she said, "I am not a yellow person. I have tried — you think, oh yellow! I'm going to walk in and be like sunshine — but I put it on and it's more like a gumdrop gone bad. . . . According to people close to me, like my sisters, they help me with that decision."
