It was designed by Charlotte Todd, and nine years on she has dug it out again. She explained,
"I only made it as a skirt but they pulled it up on Kate and she wore it as a dress. She looked fabulous - she had the perfect figure for it. I designed it for a size eight to 10, so she was a great clothes horse."
It cost Charlotte £30 to make, but auctioneers predict that when she is Queen it could be worth £100,000! Despite this, Charlotte is reluctant to part with it, "The dress is a part of fashion history – the moment William could first have fallen in love with Kate – and that makes me really proud."
Earlier this week, Prince William and Kate set a date for their pending nuptials – 29th April 2011. Are you surprised by the value of this dress?
