In Kate Middleton's official royal portrait that has been dubbed my some as "Mona Kate", it comes as no surprise that the down to earth Duchess is wearing a High Street Sub Silky Tie Top on offer now for just £28.50. The pussy-bow tie top with cap sleeves, which is available in three different colours and antique lace is however almost entirely sold out.

Whilst the painting is getting mixed reviews — some are calling it plain and others think it is elegant — I happen to think the photo is quite stately. Her top, even though it didn't cost a fortune from a high end designer does the job and the bow is on trend in a quiet and demure kind of way. What do you think of Kate's bargain shirt?
