Elle UK reports that Karl Lagerfeld has created two gold and two silver coins honoring the 125th anniversary of Mademoiselle Coco Chanel's birthday. Yesterday in Paris he showcased the first ever Chanel coin and said, "I like money to be spent, not kept."

The coins have the renowned number five (think Chanel No. 5 fragrance) embossed on the back and an image of Coco Chanel's face on the front. Seeing as their bags, shoes, accessories and even nail polish sell out in no time, it's no surprise that this money already has a wait-list. There are 99, limited-edition, five ounce gold coins which cost 5,900 Euros each and all of the coins officially go on sale 1st December.
