Quentin Tarantino was joined by the stars of his newest film, Django Unchained, for a press conference at the Ritz-Carlton in NYC yesterday morning. We were on the scene to hear the cast talk about the movie, which opens Dec. 25, and discuss what it was like playing slaves and slave-owners.

Leonardo DiCaprio, Jamie Foxx, Samuel L. Jackson, Kerry Washington, and several other actors were on hand to discuss the powerful film, which manages to turn a horrifying tale of slavery into a Spaghetti Western-esque masterpiece. They've all been busy promoting the new movie, which premiered in NYC with some help from Leo's friend Cameron Diaz last week.

Demi Lovato and Kevin McHale opened the Teen Choice Awards yesterday as the evening's hosts. She was treated to greetings from her fellow X Factor judges Britney Spears and Simon Cowell before the first presenters, Selena Gomez and Zooey Deschanel, handed off the choice comedian to Ellen DeGeneres. Choice sci-fi TV series went to The Vampire Diaries, and the cast of choice TV drama Pretty Little Liars handed off movie actor to The Lucky One's Zac Efron. Ian Somerhalder and an absentee Miley Cyrus took home choice male and female hottie nods, respectively. Ian sent thanks to Miley's parents, Tish and Billy Ray Cyrus, on her behalf. Other absentee honors went to The Hunger Games's choice male scene stealer Liam Hemsworth and choice actress in a sci-fi movie Jennifer Lawrence. Emma Stone received two prizes for Crazy Stupid Love and The Help, Rihanna got love for Battleship, and One Direction had their boards airmailed to London.

Birthday girl Selena, who's newly 20, won choice music group for Selena Gomez & the Scene. Winning a surfboard was for Selena "the best birthday present ever," and things only got better when the crowd sang "Happy Birthday" for her. Jonah Hill made a cameo to accept a surfboard for 21 Jump Street, and Taylor Swift took the stage to accept choice female artist. The Twilight gang of Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, and Taylor Lautner accepted the ultimate choice prize for Breaking Dawn Part 1, and Rob even passed his surfboard into the crowd! To wrap things up, Justin Bieber performed a medley of his songs from Believe. The last honor went to choice Summer male movie star Chris Hemsworth, for both Snow White & The Huntsman and The Avengers. It was a big evening for young Hollywood — make sure to catch up on all the Teen Choice Awards fashion!

Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum were back in LA last night for the big premiere of 21 Jump Street. The pair made a quick trip from Austin, TX, yesterday to make it to the red carpet after debuting the comedy at SXSW on Monday. The costars have been showing up to many of their recent press appearances in the bike-cop uniforms they wear in the film. Yesterday, however, they told us they decided to show some respect for the big occasion and wear suits instead so that their parents — who were in attendance — wouldn't get mad at them. In addition to his mother and father, Channing also had his wife Jenna Dewan by his side. She chose a short, white dress, and while Channing did press, she posed for a round of pictures with Jonah.

Jonah and Channing might have been the men of the hour, but their costars in the big-screen reboot of the TV series, among them Ice Cube, Ellie Kemper, Rob Riggle, and Brie Larson, also turned out to support the film. Some original 21 Jump Street alums, including Holly Robinson, also came out to see how Jonah and the directors re-imagined their show. The film features a few notable appearances from stars of the TV series like Holly and Johnny Depp, whose appearance was kept under wraps until recently. Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill took their 21 Jump Street to the SXSW festival in Austin yesterday. The guys threw on their cop uniforms for an afternoon Q&A with their costars Rob Riggle and Dave Franco, and continued wearing the getups for a p.m. premiere and afterparty. Channing made the rounds with his wife Jenna Dewan. In our recent interview with the stars, Channing said he loves Jonah more than any other previous costar, except of course Jenna, who was his leading lady in Step Up. Reviews for 21 Jump Street so far are amazing, and we'll see if it's able to top reigning box office champ The Lorax this weekend.

Cosmopolitan magazine played hosted last night for their annual Fun and Fearless Awards at NYC's Mandarin Oriental Hotel. The year's big honorees were Dakota Fanning, in Miu Miu, and Paul Rudd, who earned the female and male titles, respectively. Additional honors went to The Hunger Games hunk Liam Hemsworth, Grey's Anatomy's Jesse Williams, 21 Jump Street's Jonah Hill, a YSL-clad Freida Pinto, NFL star Adrian Peterson, Pretty Little Liars' Lucy Hale, and a Chanel-wearing Rose Byrne. Both Jonah and Liam wore Ermenegildo Zegna.

We caught a moment with Liam on the red carpet, where he opened up about his big Hunger Games press tour. He spoke about the devoted fans of the series he's encountered so far, saying, "We had our first mall event the other day, and there were lots of screaming fans, and a few teary-eyed fans, which was interesting. Very nice and very flattering to see people that passionate about it." Dakota told us she's not familiar with Liam's franchise, but she's excited to see the film. As for a daring thing she's done lately, Dakota said, "Probably starting my Spring semester at college. That was probably the most fearless thing!" If Brad Pitt and Jonah Hill didn't get to know each other well enough making Moneyball, they sure are getting in a lot of quality time together this award season. Yesterday was a doubleheader for the duo — Brad and Jonah took the podium at the Oscars luncheon and followed it up with a special Moneyball screening and Q&A session at the LACMA. The Oscar-nominated costars have been making the rounds to support their underdog drama, and if it doesn't walk away with anything at the Academy Awards in a few weeks it's certainly not for lack of trying on their part. Even as he's out on the campaign trail, Brad still makes sure he has time for family. Over the weekend, Brad and Angelina took Knox and Vivienne on a special outing to see Lady and the Tramp, and a week ago the whole Jolie-Pitt crew checked out Cirque du Soleil in Santa Monica.

Brad Pitt linked up with some of his Moneyball buddies last night in LA. Along with director Bennett Miller and costar Jonah Hill, Brad hosted a screening and Q & A at Sony Pictures Studios. The baseball picture has already earned award season accolades for the cast, including Screen Actors Guild Award nominations for both Brad and Jonah. The Golden Globes showered praise, too, bestowing nods for best drama, best screenplay, best actor for Brad, and best supporting actor for Jonah.

The night of movie talk came after a big weekend for Brad. He turned 48 on Sunday, and to celebrate, he and Angelina Jolie took their six kids to Vegas! The family was seen checking out Cirque du Soleil's Michael Jackson The Immortal World Tour on Saturday evening. Brad's pal Tom Cruise spoke about their friendship and families last night during an interview on the Late Show. Tom told David Letterman that he thinks Brad's a great dad, saying, "[He's a] talented, terrific guy . . . He's always incredible with my kids and he couldn't wait to be a father. I think he's really happy with all those kids."

Brad Pitt joined his Moneyball costar Jonah Hill in LA last night for a special screening of their film. It was a rare domestic viewing for Brad, who in recent weeks has taken the movie around the world, from the Tokyo International Film Festival to a short South Korean tour. Brad and Angelina are currently on the West Coast with their six kids, and he took the oldest four out for a special Thanksgiving weekend theater trip to see Hugo.

Angelina, meanwhile, is prepping for the release of In the Land of Blood and Honey. As part of her press efforts, she appeared on 60 Minutes last night and revealed a unique career ambition. Angelina once wanted to direct funerals, and is surprised that her career's taken the path of making movies instead. She said, "It sounds like this very strange, eccentric, dark thing to do, but in fact, I lost my grandfather and was very upset with his funeral . . . How somebody passes and how family deals with this passing and what death is should be addressed in a different way. If this whole acting thing didn't work out, that was going to be my path."

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie were greeted by a huge crowd of screaming fans as they stepped onto the red carpet at the Moneyball premiere in Toronto last night. The Toronto International Film Festival has been under way since Thursday, but last night was particularly spectacular thanks to the back-to-back Moneyball and The Ides of March gala debuts. Brad was joined by all his costars — Jonah Hill told us it was the best night of his life! — and even the real-life Billy Beane on the TIFF red carpet. Brad and Angelina took a helicopter out of London together on Thursday headed to the festival but are only sweeping through Canada quickly before returning to their kids. Earlier in the day on Friday, Brad did take the stage for the Moneyball press conference where he joked that the film's lesson of taking risks was similar to breaking free from his religious upbringing. Brad looked handsome at both Moneyball events, and next up he and the rest of his cast will be taking his movie to Oakland for the stateside premiere on Sept. 19.
