Whilst some people really get into beauty products (what can I say), others use them sparingly and love to stick with a light regimen. Choosing the right gift for a natural beauty can be challenging, but I've come up with six special items that won't miss. For example, check out this light, sheer mineral based foundation from Becca Cosmetics, a lip balm set that takes like sugar and has a tint of colour from Fresh and a beauty gift box that will arrive in the mail each month from JolieBox. The sample sizes will help broaden her horizons and introduce her to products she might not otherwise consider. Scroll through my gift guide here and vote and the end on your favourite pick from the bunch.
Choosing a scent in Summer can prove more of a challenge than the cooler months, what with hot temperatures and sun products combining to make it all the more difficult for your perfume to stand out. I've selected fragrances from Stella McCartney, National Trust, Anna Sui, Benefit, Jo Malone, The Body Shop, Ted Baker, Davidoff and Guerlain that will compete for a place in your cosmetics cupboard. Take a look at them all here, and tell me what you'll be spritzing!
Starting today, Jo Malone London has a special treat for customers to help embrace the Olympics spirit sweeping the world. The signature black and cream boxes have been given a patriotic twist with iconic London landmark sketches, and customers who spend over £60 can choose whether they want Big Ben, the Tower of London, the London Eye or another classic scene for their British purchase. The perfect packaging will be available in the Sloane Street store from today until Sunday, and on select dates at Brook Street, Covent Garden, Selfridges Oxford Street and Westfield Stratford. Take a look at other Olympics beauty products plus Team GB's campaigns and tell me if your cosmetics case is getting any patriotic additions!
With Spring in full flow, new perfumes are spritzing their way into the market. That most Spring-like of all scents, peony features in several offerings this season, and rose is another popular floral note that's finding its way from the atomizer to my wrists. Take a look at these fresh fragrances for Spring, and tell me which is your favourite!
Spring is here and to celebrate the season of blooming flowers, warm weather, pastel everything and yes, finally some more Bank Holidays, I've gathered five new beauty products that will help put a spring in my step. These include a fragrance that conjures up English gardens, a dreamy serum, a new self tanner that uses a revolutionary ingredient to give the darkest look yet, hot lip colours and pretty pastel nail shades. Check out my picks and tell me which is your favourite!
When I first discovered this Jurlique Moistursing Hand Sanitiser (£5), it knocked my socks off. The practicality of a hand disinfectant mixed with the pampering qualities of a luxury beauty product really perked my ears up, and I couldn't wait to find more products like this to share with you. Check out five of these pragmatic beauty buys that you won't have a hard time trying to justify spending money on at the till.
Body oils were never something I'd consider putting on, because I automatically figured they'd be wet, sticky, and much more messy to apply than lotion. However, then I was introduced to this amazing product from Dyptique called Satin Oil (£35), which can be used on the body and the hair and it doesn't feel greasy whatsoever. It smells incredible (think jasmine and ylang ylang) without being overpowering and has a Summer effervescence allowing it to double as a light, daytime fragrance. I've also recently discovered another dry body oil from Jo Malone called Lime Basil & Mandarin (£38), which has a crisp, unisex scent. It absorbs quickly and all you need is a little bit to go a long way. Shop more dry body oils below, and let me know if any one special product piques your interest.
Leave those flirty florals at the door, ladies. Autumn is all about rich rich scents filled with eastern promise!
Tom Ford's latest luxe fragrance Azure Lime (£115), set to launch at the end of this month at Harrods, is a seductive combo of Jasmine and neroli. Meanwhile, Laura Mercier's latest Ambre Passion Elixir (£75), is a similarly heady mix.
At the same time, the hottest ingredient in the scent world is Oud, a rare Middle Eastern extract made from agarwood. (Look for it on your labels, it's everywhere.)
Personally, I'm loving this. I'm already a huge fan of Laura Mercier's Ambre Passion Elixir, which is totally addictive, but all these scents are exciting. For so long fragrances have been sickeningly sweet and flowery. It's refreshing to have a change. Bring on the seduction!

She created a multi-million pound luxury beauty brand, so her advice has got to be worth something, right?
The show airs tonight on BBC1 and features Jo helping two budding entrepreneurs each week take their product and make it ready to pitch to a major High Street retailer. Apparently the show was all Jo's brainchild, as she believes new small businesses are the key to sorting out the recession.
Jo has had quite the life. She grew up severely dyslexic and left school at 15 with no qualifications. She and stumbled on the idea for a fragrance company after creating scented bath oils for a dinner party gift and received a slew of personal orders. Jo Malone the company was born in 1983 and by 2004 she had opened her first store in London. The rest, as they say, is history. Jo Malone was sold to Estee Lauder in 1999 for an undisclosed sum.
More recently Jo's been recovering from breast Cancer, but says she is planning the launch of a brand new fragrance company soon, which sounds exciting! (updates to follow.) I can't wait to see the show! Are you a fan of Jo Malone?
