Elton John hosted his 18th Annual AIDS Foundation Oscars Party at Pacific Design Center last night. He was joined by a host of fellow British stars, including last year's attendees Katie Price, Victoria Beckham and Terri Seymour, who posed solo this time as her date from the 2009 bash Simon Cowell brought his new squeeze Mezhgan Hussainy. George Clooney has organised a global telethon in aid of Haiti, which will take place this Friday night — Saturday morning GMT — with a huge lineup of stars volunteering to help out and perform to encourage people to donate money. London will host some musical acts for the telethon, including Rihanna, Bono, Coldplay, Jay-Z and The Edge, while Robert Pattinson is presenting!

Earlier this week Blake Lively was all wrapped up against the New York chill as she filmed new scenes for the third season of Gossip Girl, but last night she was glammed up for the Angel Ball in the city. Sporting a dress designed by Victoria Beckham — who's said to be making a cameo on the show — Blake was there alongside her boyfriend and costar Penn Badgley. Penn's spoken out about their relationship recently, admitting:

"Having a relationship with someone you work with might not always be the smartest move. But it's been wonderful to be in a relationship where we can both identify with what the other is experiencing."

It certainly seems to be working for them!

The stars were out in New York last night at the Whitney Museum Gala Studio Party in Manhattan, where glam was the order of the night for the guests. Alexa Chung looked beautiful in pale blue, on the day the second series of It's On With Alexa Chung started on MTV in the US, while Mischa Barton went for gown in a darker shade. Shimmering nudes and metallics were also prevalent as Gossip Girl's Taylor Momsen played her skin coloured dress up with a very smoky eye, and buddies Donatella Versace and Lindsay Lohan also wore pale shades.
