Jake Gyllenhaal stepped out to support mom Naomi Foner, the screenwriter behind Very Good Girls, at the film's Sundance Film Festival premiere last night. He was joined by brother-in-law Peter Sarsgaard, who's married to Maggie Gyllenhaal and also stars in the picture. It was an extra busy night for Peter, since he also debuted Lovelace with Amanda Seyfried. Very Good Girls leading lady Dakota Fanning attended the screening at the Eccles Center theater and later on linked up with her and Peter's costar Elizabeth Olsen at an afterparty. Jake made the rounds with his pal Jenny Lewis. He looked good while doing so — Jake has a new look, with slicked-back hair, for a new project. He's been in Georgia making Prisoners with Hugh Jackman.

Jay-Z and Coldplay rang in 2013 together with a joint New Year's Eve concert at Brooklyn's Barclays Center on Monday night. Coldplay played the first set while Jay-Z took the stage shortly before midnight. Jay-Z and Chris Martin joined up for the countdown and to sing "Auld Lang Syne." Once Chris was finished belting out the New Year's staple, he flowed into Jay-Z's "Run This Town," filling in for Rihanna's chorus. While Jay-Z and Chris were rocking, Chris's wife, Gwyneth Paltrow, and their children, Apple and Moses, danced on stage. They weren't the only celebrities in the audience since Jake Gyllenhaal was spotted chatting with Jay-Z backstage and Christina Aguilera and her boyfriend, Matt Rutler, were also on hand. Once the concert was over, Chris and Jay-Z headed to the 40/40 Club for an afterparty without Gwyneth, who headed home with Apple and Moses.

Jake Gyllenhaal joined his End of Watch costars America Ferrera, Anna Kendrick, Michael Peña, and Cody Horn last night for the film's LA premiere. The actors welcomed an eclectic mix of special guests, including Arnold Schwarzenegger, 50 Cent, Cody's Magic Mike costar Joe Manganiello, and Jake's longtime friend Busy Philipps. Cohosts Eva Longoria and George Lopez presided over the ALMA Awards last night in LA. It was their third time emceeing the event together, and they ran a tight ship, considering that Eva, who was also a producer, had 11 outfit changes. After the ladies showed off their style on the ALMA Awards red carpet, the fun began on stage inside the Pasadena Civic Auditorium as honors were passed out to Latino entertainers. Honors went to a Michael Kors-clad Christina Aguilera, the special achievement winner thanks to her philanthropic work, as well as favorite actress in a drama, Colombiana's Zoe Saldana, and favorite movie actor Diego Boneta, from Rock of Ages. Further statues were distributed to Naya Rivera, Rico Rodriguez, and Ryan Lochte, whose mother is Cuban.

Jake Gyllenhaal headed into Ed Sullivan Theater for an appearance on The Late Show in NYC yesterday. He looked hot in a navy suit and sunglasses while waving to fans on the street. This is just one stop on the promotional tour for Jake's latest film, End of Watch. He also attended a Hamptons screening for the flick with pals Gwyneth Paltrow and Jerry Seinfeld last week. Jake will soon go from hitting the talk show circuit, though, to taking the stage. This Friday, he'll make his off-Broadway debut in a production of Nick Payne's If There Is I Haven't Found It Yet.

Gwyneth Paltrow and Jake Gyllenhaal met up for a screening of his new movie, End of Watch, in the Hamptons last night. The actors cohosted the event with Jessica Seinfeld, who was also there with her husband, Jerry. Gwyneth and Jake have been friends for years, ever since starring together in Proof. Gwyneth has also played matchmaker for single Jake, setting him up with Taylor Swift back in 2010. Gwyneth's own spouse, Chris Martin, turned out to see the film too.

He's promoting the Broadway play, which will only run for 13 weeks, ahead of its debut on Aug. 24. He visited his mom, Naomi Foner, and stars Elizabeth Olsen and Dakota Fanning during production on Very Good Girls around Manhattan. Jake was with another lady for a day date earlier this month around SoHo, where they grabbed lunch and laughed.

Jake Gyllenhaal arrived at Lincoln Center in NYC last night for a fundraiser, sporting his now-signature scruff and a suit. The charitable evening was in memory of Paul Newman and his efforts for the SeriousFun Foundation and Hole in the Wall Camps, which provide support to seriously ill children and their families. Jake was one of many celebrities in attendance at the benefit, with Jimmy Fallon, Josh Groban, and Tina Fey contributing their varied talents to the show.
