Life is swell for the Wallings and the Ostroffs in the trailer for indie comedy The Oranges. The two West Orange, NJ families are thick as thieves, until the patriarch of the Wallings family (Hugh Laurie) is discovered to be having motel rendezvous with Nina Ostroff (Leighton Meester), the 24-year-old daughter of his best friend (Oliver Platt). The revelation throws a wrench in the families' perfect suburban coexistence. Stern parent-child talks ensue, punches are thrown, and incredibly inappropriately photoshopped Christmas cards are sent out.

It's kind of weird to see Hugh Laurie embodying anything other than House's crippled curmudgeon demeanor. I know he had a career before House, and will presumably after, but it's still an adjustment. Having said that, this trailer has sold me on the movie. The situation seems realistic, but the characters are clever enough to make it heartbreakingly funny, rather than just awkward. Brit actress Archie Panjabi celebrated her win at the Emmys on Sunday night by attending the Governor's Ball afterwards with her The Good Wife costar Alan Cumming and the other winners, nominees and presenters. Host Jimmy Fallon sang and danced as host of the show, and kissed his wife Nancy Juvoven once it was all over. Hugh Laurie watched Ricky Gervais bring beer to the ceremony and had a glint in his eye at the ball. Meanwhile Kelly Osbourne changed from her black dress into a gorgeous white gown, carrying on her evening looking as stunning as she was when she started it — but which is your favourite look?

The Glee kids, like Mark Salling, Lea Michele, Matthew Morrison, and Chris Colfer, celebrated Ryan Murphy and Jane Lynch's wins all together. Mad Men's January Jones and Christina Hendricks were all smiles about the show nabbing its third consecutive best outstanding drama series award. Lost's Michael Emerson chatted with costars Daniel Dae Kim and Henry Ian Cusick, while the True Blood crew stuck together all night. US TV channel Fox showed off the stars and shows of their upcoming season in New York yesterday. Cat Deeley brightened up the blue carpet in yellow for So You Think You Can Dance, alongside the cast of Glee who are about to head out on a US tour. Fab UK wants to know if you prefer Lea Michele's striking look or Jayma Mays blue dress? Their castmate Dianna Agron looked red hot as she posed for photos.

After some time in France with Diane Kruger, Joshua Jackson was back on American soil to promote Fringe, Cory Monteith joined the rest of his Glee castmates, and Hugh Laurie suited up to usher in a brand new season of House.

Gerard Butler, Taylor Lautner and Matthew Morrison were among those rocking the bow ties last night, while Chace Crawford wore a skinny tie with his suit. Robert Downey Jr went without a tie, while Cory Monteith wore a white one with his shiny Hugo Boss suit.

Gorgeous George Clooney was still rocking his beard, as was Jon Hamm. The Brits were represented by Hugh Laurie, Colin Firth, Kenneth Branagh and the host with the most Ricky Gervais. Lots of guys were on umbrella duty for their ladies, including Joshua Jackson, Josh Duhamel, Nick Cannon and David Arquette who seemed to get in trouble with wife Courteney!

The stars were out to see all the winners at the People's Choice Awards in Hollywood last night. While some of the stars missed the red carpet, they were all inside to take part in the show and hang out backstage. Nicole Kidman cuddled up with her man Keith Urban backstage, while Sacha Baron Cohen presented Johnny Depp with an award and had a chat afterwards. Hugh Laurie and Taylor Swift were chuffed with their wins, while Taylor Lautner and Kellan Lutz brought some Twilight-y goodness to the ceremony! Nicole and Hugh chatted to Carrie Underwood, Gossip Girl's Kelly Rutherford hung out backstage and Ellen DeGeneres hung out with Sandra Bullock and Ryan Reynolds. What fun!

Award season is really kicking off now! Just yesterday we read the Golden Globe Awards nominations, and today the Screen Actors' Guild nominations have been released — voted for by actors.

Carey Mulligan, Helen Mirren and Hugh Laurie are among the Brits nominated and all of the actors, TV shows and movies up for an award were read out by Chris O'Donnell and Michelle Monaghan.
