Blusher works wonders to contour your face and add warmth to any skin-tone. I prefer a powder blush, however, gels, creams and tints are lovely for those who are can work quickly to blend. Blusher also can be worn in several areas depending on your face shape and the style of makeup you're looking to achieve.
Personally, I like to play around with blusher styles, but my go-lo look is four-fold. I start by applying a neutral shade to the center of my cheeks, pulling my brush toward the hairline and back down (for optimal blending) and then I add a brighter colour on top (to the apples only). Next, I add bronzer under my cheekbones and a little shimmer above the blush for a highlighting effect. Do you have a signature blush style?

I like to achieve a good contoured cheekbone with blusher. Thrrob is my blusher o' choice at the moment.
1I use pressed powder blush and apply it on the apples of my cheeks. Then I blend toward my ears.
2Powder blush on my cheekbones, and highlighter on top, nose, upper lip and chin.
A couple of months ago, an NKSpace makeup artist gave me a fantastic tip: applying blush on the cheekbones, but starting from the middle of the eye and then towards the ears. Before that I had issues avoiding the "red dot" effect since I already have rosy cheeks.
3i don't really wear blush. i'm all blushed naturally
but will try your way of
application to see how it goes.
4I do the three stripe thingy with Benefit Posietint, I like that it's quite subtle because I don't really like too much make-up on my face.
5Btw does anyone have good (cheap) recommendations for a bronzer that'd suit a (very) fair skin? All the good things I've read are about brands I can't find in the UK.
6I always smile and apply blush just to the apples of my cheeks for a natural glow. I use Clinique's Soft-Pressed Powder Blusher in New Clover and love it. Blush is like the best part of my makeup routine because it really makes me look more awake and healthy. Advah, if you want a really cheap bronzer, I've heard good things about Rimmel. Otherwise I would suggest Benefit. Or you could always go back to your favourite, The Body Shop!
7I smile and put it on the apples of my cheeks and then move the brush backwards towards my ear. The key is blending!!!! I hate when people put a streak of PINK on their cheek, not cute. Blush should look natural. My fav is M.A.C.'s Dollymix!
8BigD-pssssshhhh
Will totally have a look today though!
Also, I meant *SpaceNK* in my previous post. I'm getting dyslexic.
9Advah, I was thinking The Body Shop too, their products are defs subtle enough for pale skin. Bobbi Brown is always a winner if you want to spend slightly more!
10I contour with bronzer by sweeping it just under the cheekbones and along my temple. I don't use much blush, I only use it just along the cheekbones, from the middle of my eye outward. I adore Napoleon Perdis' Mozaic Bronzer and his creme blushes.
11I love the 'number 3' technique as demonstrated by the amazing Panacea81 on YouTube! You just apply with a brush or your fingers in a rough '3' shape up your cheekbones. I use Prescriptives In Bloom or the new Bobbi Brown creme... love blusher a bit too much I think.
12Tx LA, I'll def give it a try!
