Northbrook and Bournemouth Universities combined creative powers to present their graduate collections for 2008 yesterday at Earls Court.
First up was Bournemouth University with several outstanding collections. Ida Vasaasen created a beautifully romantic line of delicates created from a range of pale fabrics including lace, chiffon and faux fur. A shot of colour was introduced with purple ribbon detailing. Natalie Conroy also produced delicate clothing with some pieces being stained with navy blue as though ink blotted.
Salena Tilly Mastroianni bravely opted for a range of swimwear for her graduate collection. This is a difficult decision but she created some beautiful accessories including a navy blue and gold print sarong.
Amy Pan (pictured) closed the show for Bournemouth with a highly talked about collection drawing on a bright palette of canary yellow, gold lame and brocade. Her pieces channeled kimono style with knotted backs and bows. Not to mention a cute floral swimming cap.

Afton Ayache stood out at Northbrook with a brightly coloured Marimeko inspired line. The pieces continued the current penchant for tribal prints and included the item du jour, a jumpsuit.
Louise Simmonds closed the show with a Victorian inspired collection with strong religious overtones. It included dramatic headpieces and mainly drew from a dark palette.
