Benzac W (Benzoyl peroxide) is an antibacterial medicine which is often prescribed for treatment of acne. These are great to know! I actually use the Neutrogena Naturals line, because they won't dry out my skin. I have combination skin, a very oily T zone and dry cheeks and chin. Whenever I have a pimple, I use ice all over to bring the swelling down and then I use Tea Tree oil as a toner, after if the pimple is really bad i'll do a Honey mask or I apply the honey on the pimple spot and leave it on all night. Honey shrinks the pimple and it helps to fight the bacteria as well! I totally recommend it!

Hi @Andrea81, you went from dry air (likely) to humidity. Try to use moisturizers and makeup that is oil-free. That might help. Let us know!

Sends am back in the Caribbean my skin has become acne prompt I was living In cold place any recommendations?

@GummiBears - Mine's a long, messy name that the skincare world doesn't cater too either. It's acne-prone combination (dry in winter/oily in summer) hypersensitive skin. I use the Dermalogica line as my base skincare system (works all year round) and switch a few products based on what my skin needs. Now that it's summer, my skin is super oily and I need oil-blotting sheets during the day so I have my Palladio blotting paper (godly stuff and dirt cheap!). During winter, I've found that if I need more moisture, I just apply another layer of barrier repair and I'm fine. If I break out in rashes/hives (I get heat/cold rashes and temperature outbreaks), I use the serum that comes in the Dermalogica Ultracalming kit. I don't find it works on my zit breakouts, but some people find the serum does. That's why I say use the hydrocortisone sparingly. It does thin the skin. Use a q-tip if you need to to apply it so you don't get heavy handed!

@Susanyara Currently I am using MaxClarity sparingly and it seems to be working, as long as I use small amounts of the treatment and every other day. And for moisture, I am using La Roche Posay Efficlar [?]moisturizer that only has salicylic acid and makes a pretty decent primer. To remove, I am using Lancome cleansing oil then use Vanicream soap. It took me a long time that my skin does not like tea tree oil at all. Nor sandalwood or its cousins. That is how I ruined my face using Vicco cream (an Indian facial product) trying to fade scars after a round of Accutane. @Ellenora Hmmmm...that could apply to me. I usually don't mess with hydrocortisone since it thins the skin and I tend to get heavy handed but I will try it just for sh!ts and giggles. Sucks to have oily skin and sensitive. People like me don't exist in the skin care products manufacturer world *lol*.

@GummiBears - You sound like you have my kind of skin! I have a condition called hypersensitive skin. Neutrogena does have sulfates in its line so it could be the sulfates. When my skin changed to being even more sensitive than even my normal hypersensitive skin, I got really interested in Dermalogica and got an assessment by the Dermalogica girls at Ulta. I was recommended the Ultracalming line (I figured that was the one and had the travel kit in my hand). It's the only thing I use now. It's an expensive line for me, but it's the only line that hasn't burned, broken out and/or made my skin more sensitive. You can try hydrocortisone, but only use a teensy tiny dab, for two days and SPARINGLY. Using it on every pimple every time is like getting a tiny shot of cortisone at the dermatologist. It's not good and it will make your breakouts worse.

@LittleMunchkin--that's what you're supposed to do! Don't touch them at all. I was referring to the people like myself who pick at them. And @GummiBears, sounds like you have really sensitive skin. What do you use then?

@Ellenora I can't use Neutrogena anything because there is something in that line that makes my skin go bonkers. Even when they came out with that naturals line after one week, my skin was covered in erupted pus pockets and man did it itch. But so many people swear by that line. Now that I think about it, I cannot use a number of Mario Badescu back to back or angry skin comes out in full force.

When I get a spot, I just leave it and it goes away...is that really bad for my skin!?

I loved the Neutrogena one after a pimple has popped when I was younger; I use it strictly after blackhead extraction now. However, I find that with my skin, a lot of acne products will actually *burn* my skin off (especially benzoyl peroxide. Bad BAD experience. 2nd degree burns!). I like to use hydrocortisone on my zits for two days and when the zit pops, I use a tiny, tiny, TINY dab of Mario Badescu's Drying Lotion to make it disappear. I try not to use anything that'll burn my skin off; one time with 2nd degree burns on my face was quite enough. If I have to (like the Neutrogena and Mario Badescu), I use the absolute tiniest amount! I don't like being burned!
