I have a confession to make. Back in the days before I was a beauty editor I committed no end of heinous beauty crimes I'm sure. One of the worst though was that I use to take my makeup off with whatever body lotion was hanging around the bathroom. I mean I'm practically religious about not sleeping in makeup, but slathering a scented body cream all over my mascara-clad eyes; well somehow I thought that was ok.

These days my sensitive eyes can't even take a cream cleanser, so I've recently started using a special eye and lip makeup remover first. I have to admit, it is a bit of a hassle and most of my friends just use those face wipes so I feel extra obsessive. How about you, do you use a specific eye makeup remover as well as your usual cleanser?
Dondup
I am completely addicted to Lush's ultrabland as a make-up remover, I have never known anything to remove thick black eyeliner like it! So yes, I use a seperate make-up remover product, but then will all the eyeliner and red lipstick I wear, I don't think anything else would take it off!
1Nope, but I don't use a cleaner very often (I have to get a gentle one, I keep forgetting about it). I've def used baby oil (didn't work great) and body lotion before though!
(Maybelline is a real pain to remove).
I don't like using wipes unless I'm camping or travelling, I need the real makeup remover lotion to get rid of my eyeliner and mascara
Btw yesterday I went to the Body Shop for a makeover (*bliss*), and their camomile makeup remover is fantastic and super gentle!
2I only wear eye makeup really, so I only really use eye makeup remover. Somehow I still end up with panda eyes the next day though so if anyone has any recommendations for an industrial strength makeup remover that's ok for sensitive skin let me know!

The Simple makeup remover works well, but it was really painful so I stay away from it now.
The *best* make up remover I've ever had was by Roc - super gentle and worked like a charm, even on the ultra thick Maybeline mascaras. Sadly I had to leave it in France since the bottle was huge and wouldn't fit in either my hand or checked luggage.
4Piesecki, you have GOT to try Lush's Ultrabland. It completely cuts through dark eye make-up without leaving you with panda eyes in the morning, and because it is made with peanut oil and rose, it is really gentle to sensitive skin.
ps: I promise I don't work for Lush, I just love this product!
5I use rimmel eye make up remover, or maybeline or something like that and grab a few cotton balls....I never use water proof mascara but the regular stuff stays on really well... a separate remover is the best way so I don't wake up with raccoon eyes.....
6Cetaphil is all I need for any face wash/make-up remover! Helping my skin stay clear and soft for about 10 years now...
7extra virgin olive oil. use it. now. amazing stuff
