Sarah Jessica Parker was by Matthew Broderick's side last night for an NBC party celebrating the premiere of the new series Smash. Many of the show's stars hit the red carpet, including Anjelica Huston, Debra Messing, Katherine McPhee, Uma Thurman, and Megan Hilty. The event came a week before Smash's premiere airs on Feb. 6 — find out what we think of the Smash pilot. It's an ambitious project from NBC and executive producer Steven Spielberg about theater people trying to do a Broadway version of Marilyn Monroe's life. The cast was recently together on the West Coast to talk about their midseason debut and the inevitable comparisons to another popular musical program, Glee. Producer Craig Zadan spoke about a possible rivalry at the TCAs, saying, "I don't think the show is like Glee, but we feel grateful to Glee for opening that door."
Debra Messing mingled with the other actors at the event, and apparently even met her new guy's parents! Debra Messing is dating costar Will Chase after separating from her husband Daniel Zelman. Yesterday, Debra met Will's mother and father at a dinner near the Temple of Dendur at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
New York Fashion Week continued yesterday with Kanye West and Vanessa Hudgens laughing together at Milk Studios during the Jeremy Scott show. Last night, several parties took place on both sides of the Atlantic leading to celebs to pull on their best dress and hit the red carpet. From the Film Crystal + Lucy Awards in New York to Esquire's 75 Brilliant Young Brits dinner in London, there seem to be one colour dominating the party – black. Click through to see which ladies opted for the classic fashion colour.
The Women in Film Crystal + Lucy Awards took place in LA last night, with a fab lineup of actresses taking part for the night's theme "A New Era". Us Brits were represented by Emily Blunt who looked gorgeous in black and mingled with the girls — there was no sign of her fiance John Krasinski. Zoe Saldana was named "Face of the Future" in her striking white dress and Busy Philips wore gold to support her Cougar Town costar Courteney Cox's win for excellence in television. She also had her best buddy Jennifer Aniston by her side.
Thirteen costars Nikki Reed and Vanessa Hudgens also caught up with each other for a chat, and Jennifer and Courteney cosied up for the cameras. Jen is back from filming Just Go With It in Hawaii, where she looked hot in her tiny pink bikini.

Stars of the small screen flocked to the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles yesterday for the Primetime Emmy Awards. Our own Brits Cat Deeley and Ricky Gervais joined their American pals for the glamourous ceremony, which saw the guys stick to black suits and the women dazzle in an array of colouful dresses. Cat went for a pale floor-length number, while Gossip Girl buddies Leighton Meester and Blake Lively took opposite approaches with white and red. Heidi Klum showed off her baby bump in a tight black dress, while Drew Barrymore opted for a fairytale-style gown. Vote on all the fashion choices and beauty looks in Fab and Bella's polls.
A whole host of men wore smart suits for the ceremony, with Ricky Gervais keeping his eyes shielded on the red carpet with sunnies. Host Neil Patrick Harris, John Krasinski and Justin Timberlake all looked gorgeous in their shirts and ties. Let Buzz know what you think of the winners, and stay tuned for more pictures from the show and the press room!

Last night at the 2009 People's Choice Awards in Los Angeles, the red carpet was filled with today's TV stars, gorgeous dresses and beautiful hair and makeup. Perhaps the hottest trend was the ever popular nude lip.
Personally, I love Debra Messing and Kate Hudson's matte, uber pale choice the most, but Carrie Underwood and Olivia Wilde's shiny pout sure does make their pearly whites glisten. Out of these nude lip looks below, whose do you favour?
Stars of the big and small screen got glam for the People's Choice Awards in LA last night. Carrie Underwood won three awards, and Paris Hilton and Jewel won me over with their pretty dresses. Nominees announcer Joshua Jackson wasn't in attendance unfortunately, but there were lots of other gorgeous guys to feast our eyes on.
Our very own Christian Bale picked up a couple of gongs thanks to The Dark Knight's huge success. Other British winners included Favourite Male TV Star Hugh Laurie, and Paul Bettany whose film The Secret Life of Bees picked up two gongs, while Gavin Rossdale presented Kate Hudson with her award. My girl Buzz has got the full winners list, Fab and Bella have polls on all the fashion and beauty looks, and BellaUK wants to know whose nude lips do you like the most?
