Ankle boots have worked hard to gain their place this season as the key footwear.

They've taken over from the knee high style and have been reinvented in many different shapes and sizes. Two of the most popular design houses of the moment, Alexander Wang and Balmain, have been championing the buckled style.
Christohe Decarnin at Balmain teamed his key catwalk looks with the suede boots (£1,419) which are perfect for showing off your legs.
The High Street has also embraced the style with Topshop and Miss Selfridge reinventing key styles. This includes a pair of peep-toe blue suede boots (£90) and a leather mid heel pair (£55).
