The jury's out about whether it's actually healthier to wash your hair everyday or not. Everyday stimulates the scalp and the hair follicles which is good for growth, but over-washing can make dry hair drier and greasy hair even more oily.
Yesterday, a good friend of mine confessed that she hasn't washed her hair for eight days now. Today is day nine and counting... Her dry, wavy hair actually looks great, and surprisingly isn't greasy at all. She did admit she'd used dry shampoo on day seven – but only the once. Helena Christensen, who always looks beautiful, often talks about how she tries not to wash her hair that often.
At the other end of the scale, I know girls who wash their hair twice a day, and there's still a certain stigma in admitting you don't wash your hair every single day. My friend, for example, practically begged me to keep her anonymous! Honey, you know who you are...
So do tell - how often do you really lather up?

Unfortunately I have to wash everyday. I tried every other day but it feels and looks awful so every day it is...
1One time I washed them every two days. Now I wash them every four days. I prefer a ponytale than ruin them.
2Seriously, it highly depends on your hair type. With my super sleek and straight, extremely fine hair, I can't go without washing it every day. A friend who has wild curls *needs* to wait for 3-4 days minimum, or she'd be in frizz hell.
3There's no one-size-fits-all solution on this one.
I'd love to say once a week... but my hair won't let me do it.. gets to greasy and hurts as it's so thick... I have cut back to every other day though...
4I've got to wash mine everyday, as my fringe gets greasy
And I don't like the way my unwashed
hair smells, with all the pollutants in London. Yuck.
5I was mine every 4-5 days. I have wavy, with slightly oily roots and somewhat dry ends, so washing it more often makes for a lot of bad hair days.
A friend of mine recently commented on how much my hair had grown and how healthy it looks - I found that washing it less often and getting a trim every 6-8 weeks plus omega 3 supplements, really does the trick.
6Every 3-4 days (twice a week). Before coming to Edinburgh it used to be less than that, but with the pollution it gets dirty way faster.
Guess I'm lucky I have curly hair, you don't see my hair is dirty on day 3-4. Also it really depends on whether I went for a run, of if the weather was clammy.. Sometimes at day 4 it's still not dirty, and sometimes at day 2 I have to wash it again!
7everyday, i have short spikey hair and all that gunk needs to be washed out daily
8I've been told by a couple hairdressers thats its not recommended to wash your hair everyday! but i guess it depends on where you live and type of hair
9only wash it every day if ive had product in it. otherwise i can last 2-3 days with it still looking great
10All the damn time!
