We're pretty accustomed to rain here in Blighty. Even though it's late August we're still experiencing April showers and learning how to dress for this weather is never easy.
An umbrella is a handbag essential here in the UK but I can never seem to remember where I left mine, perhaps I need one for every handbag in order to co-ordinate!
Although a black umbrella is a classic, I think it's much more fun to brighten up a dull, grey day with a bright coloured version! Alternatively opt for a transparent version and act like the Queen.
See below for some of the great umbrellas currently available, who says being practical can't be chic?

Can I just say that I love my Totes brolly I picked up from Boots one desperate and rainy day? It's got colorful raindrops all over and has not flipped ONCE. It's the first umbrella I've ever owned that has failed to flip! I saw lots of even CUTER patterns in Debenham's the other day (also Totes) and wish I got those instead ... I guess I could always get a back up.
1i lv the frilly blue brolly
2Im glad they're all colourful and that but are they studry lol? Ive got a bright purple umbrella at the mo which has withstood the wind on many occassions so far lol! And it was only a £5 from Peacocks lol! BARGAIN
3lilflowa I can't believe your Peacocks purchase has stood the test against time. I'm actually wearing a pair of £5 plimsoles from Peacocks at the mo and I need to retire them very, VERY soon!
4Oh, I quite like the black one, it's a bit Mary Poppins. I really want to get one of those 'birdcage umbrellas I've heard they are quite good.
5i have one swwonder, they are fab when its just raining, but when the wind pics up it gets all caught underneath and you just end up wet and dragged a foot off the ground..
