A new knitting magazine, The Knitter, has just been launched which interprets trends from the catwalk into patterns. I think that knitting is a great skill, particularly good to kill time when traveling on a train or plane but unfortunately I can't do it. Kate Hudson recently commented about how much she loves it too!
This got me wondering, do you knit?

Nope, I crochet.
1I've attempted to learn a few times, but every time someone will grab it from me and tell me I'm doing it wrong, so I just give up every time. I do cross stitch and embroidery though.
2I started knitting when I was a kid, and at one point I was selling my designs. Now I just knit for pleasure and always have something on the needles. I'll have to check this magazine as I'm always looking for new ideas!
Swwonder, keep knitting! Some of the most innovative designers out there "knit wrong". I hate that attitude, there are so many different ways to knit, how can there be a "wrong" way?
3so far, I can only knit rectangular things, like scarves. Somehow, I just can't count stitches correctly...
4ranksubjugation - im the same as you, i can knit but only scarves...lol
5Yes, I'm a rather experienced knitter and have 3 projects going on right now. I love Ravelry and am excited about The knitter.
6Aww, thanks for the encouragement Punk Glam Queen. I would like to give it another, I think it's a worthwhile skill to have.
7I can knit, but I'm another one who can only do scarves. I do keep meaning to try more ambitious projects though.
8I can knit but only basics like scarfs, mittens etc.
