Last month Claudia Schiffer announced that she is to be the face of YSL for Spring 2009. As part of the return of the supermodel Claudia replaced Naomi Campbell at the French fashion brand. Today we can reveal the first image from the campaign shot by Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin.

The classic beauty is posing in front of the iconic Hollywood sign and will grace the front of the fourth edition of YSL's Manifesto newspaper. The free paper will be available on Valentine's Day next year.

This one image doesn't give much away but what do you think of it? It's quite different to Naomi Campbell's campaign last season.
