This weeks fashion lesson surrounds the popular design of houndstooth. The print or fabric is popular this season appearing at Marc Jacobs, Michael Kors and L.A.M.B.

It is defined as [3], "A fabric, usually wool, with distinctive broken checks that resemble pinwheels or, as the name implies, the jagged back teeth of a hound. Once a popular fabric for hunting clothes, houndstooth is now a menswear staple used in suits and coats. Also known as a four-and-four check."
