The bright lights bold colour trend that was so hot this summer looks set to continue well into winter with the stormy purples and bold blue shades on the catwalks this season. Celebrities like Sophie Ellis-Bextor have been working the look, sporting rainbow-hued eye makeup and look-at-me lashes. While I'm a huge fan of MAC for ultra bold colours, their shadows can be expensive so I was thrilled to learn about the new Front Cover Rainbow Eyes kit from Boots.
Front Cover is a kooky, annual-style set that comprises of 25 eye shadows housed in a retro faux book cover. Usually priced at £30 from this Friday until Thursday 29th October Boots are waking up to the credit crunch and offering it at half price.
For the lowdown on the colours and how to work the trends, just read more.
The shadows range from wearable taupes and vanillas that are great for using on the brow bone, to smoky greys and navy for a sophisticated take on this season's gothic glam trend. Bright fuschia, turquoise, yellow and sky blue are ideal for creating the bold looks as seen at Gucci.
I was also impressed by the easy step-by-step tuition on the inside front cover of the books. It's a great kit if you want to experiment with your look but aren't sure where to start. The collection also includes two double ended brushes, as well as a miracle solvent that turns eye shadows into eye liners. Savvy shoppers may also want to stock up now as they'd make ideal Christmas gifts for beauty junkies.

I defo want this! It reminds me of that retro book that told you what "season" you were make-up wise...can anyone remember what that book was called?
1Cute — and not TOO crazily priced!
2I wonder how the pigmentation will be....
3It's no good if it comes out *really* sheer, where you need 6.7 trillion layers for a half decent wash of colour!
0037sammie: so true. That's why I find myself sticking almost exclusively to MAC.
Can't deny these colours, from the pic, are hella drool-worthy though.
4i want this!!!!
5That looks great! I'll have a look at Boots tomorrow, hopefully they'll have a tester - agreed Sammie, I hate it when it's bad quality powders that don't blend well at all.
Btw today I tried a few Natural eyeshadows, they were *gorgeous* and so much easier to handle than other Bourjois or Rimmel! Really easy to blend and nice colours, I was very impressed.
6ooooooh. i want this. even if the makeup isn't the most amazing of quality, you can't really go wrong with so many colours to play with!
7Please let me know if you've actually tried this, as I would LOVE to get it for my best friend's xmas pressie.
8I got this yesterday. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality. Colours are mostly good payoff apart from a couple which could be better. But it's worth the money 100%
9I bought this product yesterday not tried it yet but the colors look amazing
