Once thought of as a terrible beauty crime, coloured mascara is making something of a comeback. Witness celebrities like Sophie Ellis-Bextor and Princess Eugenie working the coloured lashes look (albeit with fakes). Mascara in shades ranging from flattering navy blue and deep brown to this season's plum and dark olive, are back on the beauty agenda. Look-at-me shades of hot pink, baby blue and even red are being seen from the catwalk to the high street.
Personally I'm not sure that this is a look I'll be following as I like my lashes to look thick, well-defined and the deepest shade of ebony. I have to admire girls that can pull it off though. How about you, do you wear coloured mascara?
Antica Murrina Veneziana
Luigi Bormioli
Diane von Furstenberg
I'd wear crazy coloured liquid liner, but not coloured mascara.
1Ditto!
2I think dark coloured mascara can look really good on people with fair hair/eyebrows/lashes and fair skin, but as I have pretty dark and thick eyebrows it looks ridiculous on me. :/
For me, brown is coloured. I pretty much always stick with basic black. My favourite is Courbe Virtuose by Lancome. It curls my lashes and makes them look longer and thicker.
3I did once or twice when they were huge in high school but you couldn't really tell that the mascara was colored q:
4I wore red for fancy dress once and looked like I'd been sobbing all night! I do like a dark purple though, looks great with my red hair
5when i was younger i always tried to rock the edgy colors and i don't know why but for some reason i don't think that i was ever able to pull it off. i had the electric blue mascara and i don't think that i was every very pretty with it. seeing this seasons' plum though, i'm really excited since i think that it's a doable color that i could wear and not look like it's halloween.
6Nah.
