2013 Spring New York Fashion Week

Alexa Chung took in several shows during New York Fashion Week and London Fashion Week, no doubt getting inspiration for the Spring season to come. On British soil, the fashionista was front and centre for Simone Rocha, Mulberry, Christopher Kane, House of Holland, Moschino Cheap & Chic and Margaret Howell, having watched Proenza Schouler, Anna Sui and Marc Jacobs' offerings at NYFW. I've already selected the key pieces for Kate Middleton's Spring wardrobe, so with that same mindset, take a look at my picks for Alexa's wardrobe from the shows she attended, and let me know which you think she's most likely to wear come Spring!

Cara Delevingne must be looking forward to putting her feet up after walking in dozens of shows during fashion weeks across the globe. The British model has appeared in more than 25 presentations this month, from Jason Wu in New York to Burberry Prorsum in London and Missoni in Milan, and she's still got Paris to come! Every Spring, some Fashion Week trends are constant — brighter colors, flowing waves — but this season, natural hair and makeup are getting new twists. There's been a whole world of inspiration, literally, for the beauty at New York Fashion Week. Leading makeup artists working with MAC Cosmetics have shared the inspiration behind the looks, from Italy at Diane von Furstenberg and Utah at Suno to Paris at Altuzarra and East meets West at Tadashi Shoji. Films feature too, including Avatar at Malandrino and Valley of the Dolls at Peter Som. Yesterday at New York Fashion Week, Victoria Beckham presented her second line, Victoria, Victoria Beckham, having shown her mainline at the weekend. The British designer's collection was inspired by the southern California lifestyle and the VVB girl is in the art world and blogs: "She's very cool. I want to be her, and if I can't be her, I want to hang out with her". This laid-back attitude was evident in the short shift with purple palm tree print, blue-on-black bud print fit-and-flare silhouette, and khaki with safari details. Ms Beckham added: "This isn't the usual second line. I never wanted to compromise on the quality. It's more a case that this line is focussed on daywear, which means I can put more evening looks in the Victoria Beckham range." Take a look at the full collection here and tell me what you think!

The best of British modelling talent is across the pond walking the runways of New York Fashion Week. Yesterday, Naomi Campbell opened Zac Posen's Spring 2013 show and was joined on the catwalk by Coco Rocha, Karolína Kurková and Crystal Renn.
