This Autumn fashion is taking inspiration from the seasonal shades by drawing from a palette of orange, red and gold. It featured on the catwalk at Miu Miu, Donna Karan, Tibi and Bottega Veneta and definitely conjures up images of snuggling in front of a warm fire on a cool evening. When attempting this trend it's important to not simply consider colour but also texture (as seen on the right at Donna Karan).

Texture can be created by mixing fabrics particularly knitwear. It's worth trying on a few pieces in different shades of orange and red because they are tricky colours to wear. If your skin tone is dark then opt for a bright shade and if you skin is pale, try a warmer colour like the Bottega Veneta dress above (middle).

Am LOVING those Giambattista Valli heels. But where would I wear them to?
1Make an event! Invite yourself to a ball. Alternatively, I think they'd look great with jeans on a night out.
2HAHA - that is EXACTLY what a personal shopper said to my best friend when she was at Liberty. After coercing her into trying on a gorgeous Vivienne Westwood frock, he stood by admiring her in the mirror while she feebly asked, "Where will I wear it to?" And he looked at her like she was crazy and said, "An EVENT, obviously!" She was like, "OF COURSE, events!" Now we have to make up an event ... for her to wear her dress to and me to wear these shoes to ... anyways the shoes would look FABULOUS with anything. Stop it Fab, I'm supposed to be SAVING during this credit crisis and you're tempting me!
